Helping public sector organisations adopt new technologies like AI to deliver new services and capabilities faster, better and cheaper.

Although I couldn’t make it there personally we had a great event at Security and Policing meeting some fabulous people from Border Force and other parts of government, in the U.K. and abroad. Lots of interest in how we have helped Border Force improve national security and operational efficiency. If you didn’t attend but would like to find out more, do get in touch.

We had the pleasure of hosting Border Force Director General Phil Douglas at our stand today (speaking here with our very own Robert Smart). He heard about Zaizi's work with government organisations and checked out our interactive ScanApp Lego demo. He had high praise for ScanApp and said frontline staff love what it’s helping them do. Find out more about how we helped Border Force develop the solution ?? https://lnkd.in/dPytf7yH If you're at Security & Policing 2025 and want to know more about our work or see our fun demo in action, come and see us at stand?B142 #SecurityAndPolicing #SecurityAndPolicing2025 #BorderForce #HomeOffice #ScanApp UK Home Office

?? A great night at the Computing DevOps Excellence Awards 2025! We're thrilled that Emily S was 'highly commended' in the DevOps Rising Star of the Year category. We're incredibly proud of her journey and achievements at Zaizi. Also, a huge shoutout to Hasitha H., whose nomination for?‘DevOps Professional of the Year’ shows the incredible expertise we have at Zaizi. Our chief people officer Tracey Robinson, MCIPD Robinson said: “I couldn’t be more proud of Emily and Hasitha.” “Emily came to us as a graduate?not knowing what she wanted to do, so to see her thrive at Zaizi and be promoted twice gives me immense pleasure. Hasitha has been an unsung hero for all things devops at Zaizi for many years, so it’s great to see him nominated for this prestigious award. “Both Hasitha and Emily live and breathe our values here at Zaizi, especially when it comes to Passion: they enthuse and inspire others, they love what they do and they always want to do better. And they truly both do exceptional things! “Their success is a testament to our commitment to realising potential — we provide training and support that empowers our people to become experts in their fields and gain skills that are in high demand.” It was a fantastic evening celebrating innovation and talent within the DevOps community. Well done to all the finalists and winners! #DevOpsExcellenceAwards #ZaiziLife

Day 2 at the 7th Public Sector Innovation Conference rightly focused on AI First Public Services, centred around three key pillars to delivering Pat McFadden's (The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster) ambition for Government and the state to be “more like a start up”. The conference sessions explored how AI can bring about change, but emphasised that its implementation must be efficient, effective, and equitable. My favourite session was “Efficient: AI for Streamlined Operations" which involved discussions on using AI to automate tasks, optimise resources, and cut costs in the civil services. The grounding highlighted by The University of Cornell’s work on “superintelligence” was thought provoking. Particularly in the broader examination of AI's societal impact, rather than solely focusing on the hypothetical development of superintelligent machines. It was mentioned how the work of the think tank Reform underscores that AI adoption is not just a technological challenge, but a cultural one. Overcoming cultural barriers through effective leadership, communication, training, and ethical considerations is essential for successful AI implementation. Culture will be key for the civil service to get this right. A real buzz on more predictive analytics in healthcare, excited for GDS (version 2) sprint in local government and to re-visit fixing the plumbing with AI. As an open source organisation, it was endearing to hear Meta raise the potential of open source large language models to help tackle the silos in government. In my time within government, delivering felt harder, albeit now it's generally exciting to see how we can harness the power of AI to build a future of public services that are not only innovative, but truly serve everyone effectively and equitably.

That’s a wrap for day 1! This week heralds Digital Leaders’ 7th Public Sector AI Week for public sector professionals and technology enthusiasts alike. It comes hot off the back of calls to reform the Civil Service (again). Neither the recommendations on accountability and performance are new, whether they are executed this time round remains to be seen. The reform calls are a contrast to some of the topics and recent research highlighted during the session I attended today on AI. The emphasis was more on quality and fairer practices. For example, the Good Work Charter from the Institute for the Future of Work “sets out ten fundamental principles of ‘good work’ – work that promotes dignity, autonomy and equality; work that has fair pay and conditions; work where people are properly supported to develop their talents and have a sense of community.” We recognise the importance of working with government to grow human capability, especially when a significant portion of public sector services remain under-digitised. Specifically, 47% of central government and 45% of NHS services lack digital pathways, relying heavily on manual processing. Be it designing, delivering and sustaining digital services at pace while building the human capability in your teams or contemplating what AI or transformation means to your organisation, Zaizi can help with both via our transformation days and other services, just get in touch.
