Awesome to see Linwood Rugby Club run their second Games of Ranginui last Friday at Linfield Sports! Another incredible cause that we have had the privilege of supporting through Z’s Regional Boost this year.??? ?? “The intention of Games of Ranginui is to help remove some of the barriers that a lot of our local family’s face when getting their kids involved in sports. It’s a free, safe and supportive afternoon designed to strengthen engagement and participation in grassroots rugby through activities and coaching. It’s also a wholesome start to the weekend and an opportunity for whānau to come along share some kai, catch up and be active!” Sam Jack, Lindwood RFC.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, last week we hosted a panel discussion on this year's theme #AccelerateAction. A huge thank you to our speakers who shared their experience on ways to develop and retain diverse talent and how to be an effective ally. Z is focused on improving outcomes for women in our business and we are proud of the progress we have made. However, there is always more to be done.??? I help organisations understand their gender equity challenges and create inclusive leadership environments where people and businesses thrive.
I said I was going to stay off social media over International Women's Day but this is actually too exciting not to share. Over the past few months Lisa Mulligan and I have had the pleasure of working with Rebecca Morrissey Dave Bennett, Kellie Wade and Helen Sedcole identifying the challenges and opportunities for women in leadership at Z Energy NZ. Z Energy wanted to get a deeper understanding of their persistent challenges including women in leadership roles, as well as specific recommendations for maintaining and building upon their progress. While many organisations struggle to achieve gender balance in leadership roles, Z Energy has established itself as a market leader with 46.9% female representation at senior leadership levels. More impressively, they've made consistent progress towards closing their gender pay gap, sitting at 1.78% (including their CEO). The case study we've put together examines how they've achieved these results and what other organisations can learn from their journey. There are a lot of great insights in here. One of my favourites is how diversity in leadership is fundamentally intertwined with Z Energy's ability to serve their customers, drive innovation, and maintain competitive advantage in attracting and retaining the best people. It's not just another thing for them to do, it's a strategic imperative. My second favourite part was how they're using data to drive the cultural shifts needed to delivery on this strategy. Their people analytics are next level and I may have nerded out on what that data told us about the inclusion of women as well as the opportunities for Z Energy to enhance this - thanks Dave ?? . As part of this process, Lisa and I were also able to offer research backed and best practice insights into what else Z Energy could be doing to build on their progress. This is seriously some of my favourite work supporting organisations in achieving their gender equity goals and closing their pay gaps. I'm owning that nerd-ness! So if insights and recommendations are something you'd be keen on for your organisation to attract and retain more women in your leadership roles and close your gender pay gap (leadership representation is a key driver of this) - get in touch. You can download the case study here ===>> https://lnkd.in/gRJ3_KNi
