The Z Manu World Champs are back and better than ever! ?? ? We’re proud to be celebrating the beloved kiwi pastime again this summer. ? Following the success of the inaugural competition in 2023, this year’s festivities boasts an expanded lineup, with 10 qualifying events across eight cities. Selected winners and placegetters will secure a spot in the grand final on Saturday March 1, 2025.? Last year, more than 2,000 people competed across Aotearoa, with thousands more gathering at Auckland’s Viaduct to cheer on the finalists. ? For those unable to attend a qualifier in person, there’s also the Z Manu Wildcards – an easy and convenient way for manu fans to get involved from anywhere around the country. Entrants submit a video of their best manu on social media, allowing the public to vote for their favourites. ? We’re proud to be working NZ Police and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to be sharing road safety messages across our nationwide network ?? ? To help reach drivers before they head back behind the wheel, a range of important safety tips and reminders will be shared with our customers both in-store and on the forecourt. ? South Island Z Retailer, Jonathan Usher, says it’s great to be helping get the message out there.?? ? “All Z retailers are really committed to our communities. And if we care about our communities, road safety has to be a pillar of that, because any harm on the road doesn’t just impact the person in the accident itself, but everyone around them.”? ? At Z, we’re privileged to play a part in keeping New Zealanders moving with the fuel we supply to our customers – whether that’s to emergency services, families or local businesses. ? Our GM of Supply Julian Hughes sat down with Newsroom NZ to discuss our analysis of Aotearoa New Zealand’s fuel supply chain, and how we could respond to a disruption: https://lnkd.in/gWrs2bbX

What a line up! ?? ? Thank you to our panellists, our very own Haley Mortimer, Billie Moore from NZ Airports Association, Amelia Rentzios from Hiringa Energy and facilitator Pattrick Smellie for an insightful session focused on the essential role of collaboration in the energy sector. ? It was an opportunity to dig deep into why ‘radical collaboration’ between business, government and customers is needed to meet shared goals and objectives. ? The session was the final event in our Energy Leaders Series with?BusinessNZ Energy Council for 2024, wrapping up many thought-provoking and engaging conversations. Safety and wellbeing is an important stand for Z Energy NZ. And we know standing for big things is how we begin to solve them. Aotearoa New Zealand has a poor track record of health and safety performance, and we need greater collaboration to tackle this issue. That is why I am proud to see Z’s name alongside 60+ other leading New Zealand companies calling on the Government to radically improve how it supports businesses to manage health and safety risks. Our submission presents six recommendations for the Government to provide businesses with greater clarity for managing risks and better alignment between key government agencies. Do you know the signs of a stroke? ? Today marks World Stroke Day for 2024, an initiative focused on driving awareness and encouraging people to get active to reduce the risk of a stroke. ? It’s important to be aware of the signs of a stroke, with the F.A.S.T acronym being a helpful tool to remember what to look out for: ? ? F for face - check their face, has their mouth drooped? A for arms - can they lift both arms? S for speech - is their speech slurred, do they understand you? And T for time - time is critical, call 111 immediately. ? Z Merrilands team member Emma recently recognised a customer exhibiting some of these signs and her fast actions helped save his life. ? We’re so proud of Emma for her quick-thinking efforts ?? https://lnkd.in/gxgN3fnx

You would think that giving away money was easy. Afterall, we've been doing it for over 10 years. But with 26,000+ charities in Aotearoa and an increasing need for services, we have challenged ourselves to continually improve how we give and who we give to. Community is part of Tō Tātau Pūtake Our Why and supporting local charities is an important part of how we live that commitment. I'm incredibly proud of the longstanding impact we make through Good In The Hood, but also through new initiatives such as our partnership with Dave Letele (Good In The Hood Ambassador) and the Regional Boost. The increasing diversity of groups supported is testament to being better connected to what matters most at a local level. Haley Strickland Haley Mortimer Z Energy NZ #CommunityStand #ZisforAotearoa
