As we honor women's empowerment, we want to highlight our York City Council. For the very first time, all five members are women: Council President Edquina Washington, Council Vice President Betsy Buckingham, along with Council Members Dr. Felicia O. A. Dennis, Elizabeth Bupp and Teresa Johnescu. They are all making a meaningful difference in the community! #WomensHistoryMonth #YWCAYork #ONEYWCA

On a mission to eliminate racism, empower women and strengthen families.
关于我们
YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The purpose of YWCA York is to work proactively and collaboratively to provide programs that promote racial justice; empower women; eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault and other forms of violence; and strengthen our community. YWCA York was founded in 1891 as a place for women to come together to learn, strengthen their minds and bodies, and advocate for social change. Today, YWCA York responds to the needs of busy families with innovative programs, flexible scheduling, and affordable fees. We are proud of our tradition of promoting wellness and dignity for all people and continue to work for an end to violence and discrimination of all kinds.

The YWCA of York honors the life, wisdom, contributions, vitality, elegance, goodwill, and generosity of Josephine Davidson Appell (1923-2024), Board Director Emeritus and former Board Director of our YWCA. We are the benefactors of Jody’s friendship, leadership and legacy. Jody is greatly missed, and always fondly remembered, appreciated and admired. Remembered in Purpose. Rest in Peace our dear Jody. #WomensHistoryMonth #YWCAYork #ONEYWCA

April 1st kicks off Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Chances are someone in your life is a survivor of sexual harassment, assault, or abuse, even if they have never shared their story with you. Show your support for survivors of sexual harassment and abuse by wearing teal — the color of sexual violence prevention — on April 1st and post a selfie to Social media using #SAAM2025 #DayofAction2025 #YWCAYork.
