Native people face the highest poverty rate of any racial group in the U.S. A major factor? The staggering wage gap. Native women earn just 52 cents for every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men. This gap persists whether they work part-time or full-time—and it's unacceptable. Native women deserve fair pay and economic justice. We can and must do better. It's past time to come together to #CloseTheWageGap. On #NativeWomensEqualPayDay, we’re highlighting this deep inequality and demanding change. Native women face one of the largest pay gaps in the nation. It’s time to stand up and demand better.

There are a variety of ways to support initiatives helping Central Ohioans at risk of homelessness. ?? Donate to organizations like to the Community Shelter Board at www.csb.org/donate , which coordinates strategy, collaboration and resources to support unhoused people and those at risk. The Mid-Ohio Food Collective, which stocks local food pantries, can leverage donated funds to buy goods in bulk. ?? Volunteer with organizations that provide help, from housing to health care and everything in between. The Anthem Welcome Center at 1006 N. High St. is accepting winter gear donations from 9am-2:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. The space offers on-site health care and housing assistance to those facing homelessness. It's operated as a partnership between the Short North Alliance, Southeast Healthcare and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. #endhomelessness #donate #community

A dedicated #volunteer has written a letter just for you. Carillon, one of the many compassionate individuals who bring our mission to life at the YWCA Columbus Family Center, shares how your support makes a life-changing difference. ?? “Your support allows the work to continue on, providing shelter, warm meals, and access to key resources to those adversely impacted by crisis.” This vital work empowers both the individuals we serve and the incredible volunteers who make it all possible. But we can’t do it alone. A #holiday gift from you can ensure this mission continues to uplift our community—providing stability, support, and opportunity to our neighbors. Will you be the force that keeps this work going? The passage of SB 104, also known as the ‘anti-trans bathroom bill,' is a disgraceful act by our statehouse elected officials, which YWCA Columbus vehemently opposes. Read our full statement and contact Gov. DeWine's office at 614-466-3555 to express your opinion. https://buff.ly/4fHzoxS
