We exist because Moms deserve better Accelerating the growth of postpartum care in America
关于我们
Moms deserve more. Postpartum care in the US is failing mothers, leading to lasting physical and mental health issues. This impacts not only mothers but families over generations, harming our broader economy and society. Yuzi is on a mission to accelerate the growth of postpartum care in America. We envision a future with thousands of postpartum retreats across the country, similar to those that already exist in Asia. Yuzi is building the technology platform to scale this vision. Yuzi provides multi-modal wraparound postpartum care for families by leveraging hotel vacancies and our innovative tech platform, streamlining processes from booking to invoicing to reimbursement. The Yuzi Retreats is haven designed specifically for families as they embark on the postnatal journey, an incredibly challenging and rewarding period. Our retreat offers a nurturing and supportive environment where parents can rest, recover, learn, and connect with their babies and each other. We understand that the postpartum period is a time of profound change. Our mission is to guide families through this complex transition by offering a holistic experience that focuses on three pillars: Care, Confidence, and Connection. Care: We provide 24/7 expert care to both mom and baby because you SHOULD NOT have to choose. Confidence: We empower parents with knowledge, resources, and personalized support to build confidence in their new role. Our specialized programming helps mothers develop the skills they need to care for their newborns and themselves. Connection: We want to foster meaningful connections to the community that includes the the community of parents as well as care providers so parents have the necessary access to the support they need.

"This was sadness of a shockingly different magnitude. It felt as if it would never go away. ” – Brooke Shields, Down Came the Rain Too often, motherhood is romanticized as a time of pure joy. But for many women, it’s also a period of deep struggle. PMAD is the #1 pregnancy & perinatal complication (up to 50% birthing parents) yet it remains widely misunderstood and rarely talked about. When Brooke Shields shared her experience in Down Came the Rain, she broke through the stigma. Her honesty helped countless mothers recognize that PMAD is not a failure—it’s a medical condition that requires support, care, and understanding (yet it is still not included in the diagnosis in the medical manuals- DSM). At Yuzi Care, we are committed to redefining postpartum support, ensuring that no mother feels isolated in her journey. Rest and recovery aren’t luxuries; they are necessities. That’s why our postpartum care professionals, like Elena Wiese, are at the heart of what we do. Elena is a certified doula, a mom, and a dedicated postpartum care provider. Before stepping into maternal care, she worked in corporate translation and holds a Master’s in Translation Studies—speaking five different languages. She made the transition to postpartum work because she saw the huge gap in support for new mothers and wanted to be part of the change. On this International Women’s Day, let’s recognize the strength of mothers everywhere. Let’s amplify the voices that bring change. And let’s work toward a world where maternal care is prioritized—not overlooked. #InternationalWomensDay #MaternalHealth #PostpartumCare #MothersMatter #BreakTheStigma #BrookeShields #YuziCare

Thank you can't begin to express my gratitude to our speakers yesterday at The Table's December session at The Lodge at St. Edward Park. Alan Frazier was generous with his time and spirit and was joined by his team Sandy Aslanian and Nicole Zabriskie from The East Seattle Foundation's Frazier Scholars. We had two impressive scholars also speak to us, Janisha Wright and Haliima H. both who went through the program and are now looking for their next roles! Please look at their profiles and contact any one of us if you would like an intro. Thank you also to the amazing Stephiney Foley for sharing the story of Yuzi with the group and leading us through an eye-opening conversation about the state of our health care system as it relates to new parents. Her outstanding work is paving the way for others to join the effort and support these types of programs. And finally, much gratitude to Camille Coonrod and J.P. Morgan for generously directly supporting this event! https://lnkd.in/gJHvK4Wn Pacific Catapult #leadership #theTable

It’s estimated by Johns Hopkins Medicine that 1 in 5 new moms might have postpartum depression, with an even greater percentage (85%) potentially facing some hormonal change that results in depression or “baby blues.” For Foley, her goal with the Yuzi retreat was to create a future where postnatal care is a right, not a privilege, and where a postpartum retreat can be visited within 30 minutes after leaving the delivery room. We caught up with Foley to learn more about Yuzi. Thank you 425 Magazine for the feature!

“Babies don’t come with a manual, and so it’s really difficult for young people to adjust to this new way of life where you’re so far away from your support system and the ‘village’ that we used to have,” explains Stephiney Foley, a mother of two. “And so, we’re creating that bridge and that village for families.” Thanks for the feature Parents Magazine!
