For Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, we're spotlighting how community health centers (CHCs) are uniquely positioned to cut #colorectalcancer rates. Colorectal cancer is one of the few cancers that can be detected through regular screenings ???????????? it becomes cancer. Yet, it still remains?the third largest cause of cancer deaths?and is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States. ?? Why? According to the NIH, lack of access to routine care and the perception of discrimination from the medical system are two major barriers to routine screening. ? And this is just where CHCs have an incomparable impact: ensuring their communities get the routine care they need, including regular colorectal cancer screenings, and that patients receive this care in the inclusive way CHCs are known for. #VBC #valuebasedcare #CHCs #FQHCs #communityhealth #colorectalcancerawarenessmonth
