We’re proud to announce — the Moyer Carriage Lofts Historic Rehabilitation and Brownfield Cleanup project won a 2025 ACEC New York?Platinum Award for Engineering Excellence! ?? C&S led the environmental investigation and brownfield remediation of the historic Moyer Carriage Lofts site for Housing Visions Unlimited, Inc. This project, located in the Hiawatha-Lodi Brownfield Opportunity Area, Syracuse, NY, transformed the former Moyer Carriage and Car Companies complex into affordable housing for working families, offering 128 units, six of them fully accessible. Key achievements include: -Removal of several underground storage tanks. -Over 5,000 tons of non-hazardous soil and more than 1,500 tons of hazardous soil sent offsite for disposal. -Groundwater treatment via in-situ combined chemical/biological remediation. Post-injection groundwater testing shows a greater than 90% contaminant reduction! The project has energized local citizens and is likely to spur community investment. Kudos to the project team for a job well done on this outstanding remediation project! ??
