Our studio received another "Business Hall of Fame!" . . . Our ?? studio was recognized with the 2024 Brooklyn Award in the Education category by the Brooklyn Award Program. And since we have been selected more than three years in a row for the award, we are again recognized as the 2024 Brooklyn Business Hall of Fame. In the press release, it reads: “Brooklyn Award Program Honors the Achievement BROOKLYN April 24, 2024 -- Yukimi Song Studio LLC has been selected for the 2024 Brooklyn Award in the Education category by the Brooklyn Award Program. Each year, the Brooklyn Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small businesses through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Brooklyn area a great place to live, work and play. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2024 Brooklyn Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. I love helping students unlock what music means to them. Each student comes with their own strengths, interests, and learning styles, and together we design a custom musical pathway—so they can cultivate confidence and focus. Although I have taught students ages 3 to 70, I am particularly drawn to working with teens and adults to help them expand their life experiences through music. In my studio, students play works by Bartok, Satie, Liszt, Granados, and Chopin. Beyond classical repertoire, I also teach students how to improvise on their favorite pop songs, everything from by Adele and Maroon 5 to Broadway musical show tunes such as Hadestown and Wicked. Students also explore ensemble collaboration, family duet performances, and more. My students’ successes include winning first prizes in the International Grande Music Competition, the BMTG Intercontinental Competition, and being named to the Honors Program at The Piano Teachers Congress of New York. Others have been accepted into the undergraduate music programs at NYU and Eastman School of Music. In addition, some of my high-school students have written and produced original songs using Logic Pro and published them on music streaming services. I am so proud of what ALL of my students achieve. To celebrate their learning, we present biannual concerts that help foster our supportive studio community. In addition, families often offer to host these concerts at their homes to make the events even more memorable. Ultimately, I teach to help students find joy in expressing themselves and making their own personal connection with music.

Here is the excerpt of my piano student's performance of George Handel! . . . . One of my ?? students won First Prize for Honors Program 2024 at The Piano Teachers Congress of New York! She performed 2 pieces: ?? Aufschwung from Fantasiestüke by Schumann ?? Air and Variations (The Harmonious Blacksmith) from Suite No. 5 in E Major, HWV 430 by Handel And… The judge chose Handel! She also received the Dorothy and Sidney Morrow Baroque Composition Award for her performance of Handel. CONGRATS to my ?? student, Elizabeth (Elle) Levine (10), for achieving such a huge prize in her age category (10-12)! The grand finale of this esteemed piano competition was live-streamed last night...all the contestants submitted their video-recorded performances in advance. Still, the actual competition took place live on YouTube with three judges present. Elle really wanted to be selected as a grand finalist...her wish came true and soared even higher as she received an exceptional rating! ??
