? Project update ? Earlier today, we gave an update to our board on the status of our planned Atmospheric River Control (ARC) Spillway at New Bullards Bar Dam in Yuba County, one of our biggest investments in flood risk reduction since building Bullards Bar. Design of the spillway is complete, and we're working with our board and partners on next steps, including securing permits and seeking external grant funding for the project. Check out our latest video to learn more about how the ARC Spillway, combined with operational improvements called Forecast-Informed Reservoir Operations, will benefit Yuba-Sutter communities and beyond.
关于我们
Yuba Water Agency is defined by two things: water and the people of Yuba County. Our agency was created to reduce flood risk to this region and manage water supplies for the benefit of the county. Our missions include flood control, hydroelectric power generation, water supply, groundwater management, fish habitat protection and enhancement (specifically wild salmon and steelhead on the lower Yuba River) and recreation. Established in 1959 by an act of the State Legislature and headquartered in historic Marysville, California, Yuba Water Agency is a public agency governed by a seven-member Board of Directors comprised of the five members of the Yuba County Board of Supervisors and two members elected at large.

??Yuba Water community impact grants in action?? Several Yuba County schools are kicking off the school year better prepared to communicate during an emergency thanks to a grant from Yuba Water for new two-way radios! After participating in a crisis training exercise involving flooding and evacuations, the Yuba County Office of Education applied for funds through our Community Impact Grant and Loan Program to support communication during emergencies and when other channels are limited. "This has really been an empowering tool for all of our team members to serve our students," Virginia School Principal Courtney Coburn told the Appeal Democrat. "I can't stress enough how happy our team members are – like the smiles on their faces." We're smiling, too! ?? On this day in 1967, the first concrete was placed on the site of New Bullards Bar, starting construction of our 645-foot-tall dam. Over the next 21 months, 350,000 buckets of concrete were continuously placed before this critical flood risk reduction and water supply project was complete. Fun fact, it's called New Bullards Bar Dam because there is indeed an original Bullards Bar Dam that's submerged in the current reservoir. Learn more about our history: bit.ly/yubawater-hist
