    CONTENT CART ?? Luxury supermarket hauls are TikTok’s latest obsession. While most of the comments on these #SupermarketHaul videos have comments like, “how can you afford thisss,” young people are still watching every single one that appears on their feed. The reality is it doesn’t just promote upscale grocery shopping, it creates an aspirational lifestyle. (As we previously reported on snacks becoming a status symbol.) Among those who may not (or can’t) usually indulge in expensive groceries, this has created a view of self-care and personal gratification through food. There’s also a sense of community around creators sharing their favorite products, recipes, and cooking tips. As the obsession with minor luxury goods melds into daily life, this trend highlights young consumers wanting to elevate their everyday through accessible premium products, rather than one major splurge purchase.     GEN Z FREAK OUT ?? Dating is now about “freak matching” for Gen Z. A phrase from Tinashe’s song “Nasty,” asking, “Is somebody gonna match my freak” massively took off on TikTok earlier this year. For the young gens saying it, when someone “matches their freak,” they can embrace their quirks, dark humor, and most niche interests, creating a deeper sense of acceptance in relationships. Now, Plenty of Fish is calling “freak matching” the dating trend for 2025. For young women in particular, this outlook within dating encourages genuine self-acceptance, rather than molding their personalities to fit others’ expectations, which helps move beyond surface-level connections. The trend has woven itself into friendships too, with the best relationships in their life being the ones that “match their freak.” (New York Post) ??
