Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) is an international 501(c)(6) nonprofit coalition of organizations, which helps professional development, fellowship, and networking for young professionals in the transportation field. The Greater New York City chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT-NYC) was created in 2011 to enhance professional development among young transportation practitioners and future leaders in the NYC region. Join us for professional development, fellowship opportunities, and networking. Membership in YPT is open to all young transportation professionals and students around the world. We do not have an age-restricted definition of ‘young’ in YPT. Anyone is welcome to participate in our activities.

This short-term project dives into one of the NYC area’s least studied transit systems—perfect for students eager to gain hands-on experience. Don’t miss out on this chance to build research skills and explore urban transit in a whole new way!
I am now taking applications for a 1-week field research/internship role. When I was a student, i made a website about jitney bus routes in northern NJ. There is a surprising lack of online information about these routes, and the website got millions of views and also helped me land 2 different internships. Now, the route and fare information is out of date and I need a student to do what I did- independent field research on jitney operations. JD and application instructions are below. I hope this project gives an enterprising college student the same opportunity it gave me!
