Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) - Chicago Chapter

We are ?? days out from Student Networking! Are you registered yet? YPT is looking for both students and local transportation professionals to join us for an evening of networking!

This year, the Chicago Chapter of Young Professionals in Transportation (YPT) will be hosting an end-of-the-year party (date and time TBA). At this party, we will be presenting awards to exceptional YPT members, public servants, and projects that have had an impact on the Chicago community and that have helped our membership grow and mature in their careers. We will be handing out five awards: ? Best Project: Planning and Outreach - This award will be presented to a project team who worked on a planning, public engagement, stakeholder outreach, or similar project in the Chicago region. ? Best Project: Infrastructure and Engineering - This award will be presented to a project team who worked on a physical infrastructure project in the Chicago region, including engineering or design studies for future projects. ??Best Public Servant - Cannot nominate yourself - This award will be presented to a public servant who engaged with the YPT membership and has served the Chicago region in exceptional ways this year. ? Best Student-Led Project - This award will be presented to the students who engaged in significant transportation projects this year, including capstone or thesis projects. ? Best YPT Member - This award will be presented to the overall best YPT member who made exceptional contributions to our organization and have been actively engaged in growing their careers or others. YPT Chicago joined Chicago Transit Authority team members and the stations contractor to tour the beautiful new Damen Green line station today! Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and experience some of the small touches that make this new station - the first new station in the last 7 years - so unique. Thank you to everyone that tagged along and also to Midwest Coast Brewing for hosting our post event social hour! Want to join us for our next event? This event happens tomorrow! We will be joined by some of the station contractors for the tour, and then will move for a casual social hour at Midwest Coast Brewing afterwards!

Come along with YPT Chicago as we explore the brand-new Damen station on the CTA's Green line! We'll spend roughly 25 minutes checking out all the cool features this station has to offer before heading nearby to Midwest Coast Brewing for a social hour. Meet us at Damen Green line (at the intersection of Damen Ave and Lake St). We'll kick off the tour shortly after 5:30pm, so if you're joining us there make sure to be on time! After the station tour wraps up around 6:00pm, we'll walk to Midwest Coast Brewing for some light bites and good company. YPT Chicago will cover the first round for members, otherwise event attendees will be responsible for any additional food or drinks.
