It’s an important program that schools often organize to introduce young children to different community groups, especially those in elderly or nursing homes. Often, children are tasked with creating meaningful projects to engage and interact with this vulnerable group. It is something significant and impactful. So, when we were approached by our client to equip their leaders with skills to run activities designed to engage and assist the elderly population in a specific nursing home, we jumped at the chance. ?????? ???????????? ???? ?????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????? ???????????????? ?????? ???????? ???? ?????? ???????? ???????????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ??????????????????. While PERMA is a vital pillar of Positive Education, it’s equally important in designing activities. How so? ???????????????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ???? ???????????????? ???????? ????????: 1) Instill ???????????????? ???????????????? and happiness within the elderly. 2) ?????????????them sufficiently, ensuring the activity isn’t just one-way traffic. 3) Focus on building a ?????????????????????????between the elderly person and the student. 4) Be ?????????????????????and important to the elderly person, evoking genuine feelings. 5) Allow the elderly person to have a sense of ???????????????????????upon completing it. So, the activities couldn’t just be a skit or a musical performance. Do those fulfill the PERMA requirements? Not quite! By providing these young leaders with the right framework and guiding them on the needs of the elderly, they came up with delightful ideas and explained how each one met the PERMA objectives. It was a real treat to see their ingenious ideas on display. ???????? ???????? ???????????????????? ?????? ????????????????????????, ??’?? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????????????? ??????????! You might think, "Nah, I'm not a cyberbully." But actions like taking screenshots of someone's message, Instagram post, or photo and sharing it in a private group chat to laugh at that person constitute a serious form of cyberbullying. Unfortunately, it's more rampant than we think. In a survey from a few years back, 1 in 3 youths in Singapore reported being victims of cyberbullying. The numbers have likely increased since then. What’s causing this? Worse still, many youths suffering from cyberbullying may have friends who are committing cyberbullying towards others. Sad, isn't it? This is why, for one of our Peer Support Leaders (PSL) Training sessions, our focus was on equipping Peer Support Leaders to create SAFE Digital Spaces within their schools! ???? ???????????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ??????????????. ???????? ???????? ?????? ???? ?? ???????????? ?????????????????? ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????? ??????????????. ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ??????????????????? Moreover, much of the focus for PSLs has been on dealing with cyberbullying after it has occurred or panicking and informing adults to solve it. ???? ???????????? ???? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????????? ?????????????????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????? ??????????. ???? ???????? ???????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???????? ????????????????????????, ???????????????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ???? ?????????? ????????????. Seeing the looks of wonder on the students as they went through this exercise, watching them comprehend the seriousness of the training and how they could apply the skills they were gaining, was truly rewarding. Our goal is to ensure that all Peer Support Leaders can fully carry out their duties! The best part is that these skills are invaluable once they transition to the workplace!

We hear it so often, that it can become annoying, but it is a recurring theme for a reason. Why are we told in schools and organizations to create a vision or goal with our peers, instead of setting our own goals and informing others about them? ???? ???? ??????’?? ?????????????? ???????????? ???? ???????????????? ?? ?????????????? ????????????, ?????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ???????? ???? ?????? ???????? ???????? ??????????????? We recently conducted a session in a school and the final main task was to get the entire class to create their class vision using domino bricks. They could work in small groups, but ultimately, their designs had to be combined to create a story and a domino effect. Seems simple, right? But what we observed was that students immediately formed little groups and started building their own designs. ???? ?????? ?? ???????? ???? ???????????? ??????????, ?????????????? ???????????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????????? ???? ????????. ???????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ?????????? ???? ???????? ???????????????????? ?????? ????????????????????????, ???????? ???????? ??????. So we quietly observed. Everyone was focused on their own narrow vision, ignoring the big picture. We waited to see if they could create a class vision by combining their group designs. ?????? ???????????? ???? ???? ??????, ???????? ???????????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ???????? ?????????? ?????????? ???? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ?????????? ??????. How could they create a class vision by only working with a small segment of the class? Then, the noise and discussions became more lively, and there was a genuine desire to create something as a class. This transformation was special! Seeing our youth leaders realize they needed their peers to create a unifying vision for their class and appreciate each other for working as a team. ?????? ???????? ?????? ??????????????! ???????? ?????? ????????????????!

We can talk all we want about preparing for interviews, whether for jobs, scholarships, or university admissions, but real growth happens through practice and refinement. We recently ran a program at a girls' school for the Secondary 1 cohort. We noticed that while the girls got along, they didn’t actively practice encouraging each other's hearts. They didn’t seem to understand why uplifting and supporting one another is important. ???????? ???? ????????, ???????????? ???? ????????????, ?????? ???????????????????? ???? ???????? ???? ???????? ???? ???? ???? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ??????’?? ??????????. But is it? Six months into their school term, cliques had formed, and there was a lack of unity within the class. There was no urgency to show appreciation to one another. ????, ???????? ?????? ???? ????? ???? ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ???????????????? ???? ???????? ???????????????????????? ???? ?????????? ?????????? ???? ?????????? ????????: 1) First, verbally in a group setting. 2) Second, verbally in a pair-share method. 3) Finally, they wrote love letters to each other and then a consolidated love letter to their class. The transformation was incredible. Initially, the students were uncomfortable expressing their appreciation, as our natural ego often prevents us from being vulnerable for fear of rejection. But as we persevered, the walls came crumbling down, and the girls began sharing their love and appreciation for each other. The brightness in their faces was like watching a sunrise. It was truly amazing. ????, ???????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???????? ?????? ?????????? ?? ???????? ???????????? ???? ?? ????????, ??????????????????, ????????????, ???? ???????????? ?????????????

But maybe, due to the culture, budgets, or lack of support, you had to make do with what you had? ???? ?????? ???? ???????????? ??????????????????????, ??????????? Recently, we had the privilege of running a cohort training with Secondary 2 students. Interestingly, the school grouped them by their CCAs instead of classes. The goal? To identify areas for improvement within their CCAs and empower the students to execute these changes. Sounds exciting, right? We provided a framework for brainstorming and taught them how to include and consider their stakeholders in the process. ?????? ????????????? ?????????????? ?????????? ?????? ???????????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????? ???????????? ?????????? ????????. But was that all? Great ideas are just the beginning. Students also need to know how to present and pitch their proposals effectively. So, we equipped them with skills to deliver powerful pitches, enabling them to articulate their desired changes and benefits to all relevant stakeholders. ?????? ???????????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????????????????? ???? ???????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????? ???????????????? ????????????????????????. More importantly, they realized how vital these skills will be as they transition into the workplace.   • Hello friends! We recently had an amazing day with our Secondary 3 cohort, combining classroom learning with hands-on activities to prepare our students for their future careers and teamwork. ?????????????? ??????????????: ???????????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????????? Our students dived into the VIPS Model (Values, Interests, Personality, Skills) to explore their unique strengths and preferences. This interactive session helped them gain clarity on their career aspirations and post-secondary educational choices. ?????????????????? ??????????????: ???????????????????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????????? ?????????????????? Taking the learning outdoors, students engaged in a fun and insightful sandcastle-building exercise. Using their VIA Character Strengths, they discovered what drives them and how they can effectively collaborate as a team. The blend of self-discovery and teamwork made the day truly special. Our students not only learned more about themselves but also saw how their strengths play out in real-world scenarios. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and growth! The calibre of students was simply spectacular! ? It was obvious how much they loved and enjoyed being leaders, and they were filled with such enthusiasm to learn more and satisfy their endless desire for more knowledge and skills! ? ?????? ?????????? ???????? ??????! ? Participants were equipped with essential skills on: - Understanding each other using DISC in a simplified setting. While DISC may seem like a massive topic for primary students, these leaders were keen to learn about the different styles and could immediately see some of the traits within their peers. It was an eye-opening experience when they realized they could suddenly explain some of the behavioural traits they possessed. - Enabling each other to work more effectively in teams, especially in their role as Leaders. It was reinforced to participants that their roles as leaders meant they had to take the initiative to offer help, provide support, and encourage participation amongst their peers. ? Overall, it was an enriching afternoon spent with our leaders of tomorrow! ? ???????? ???????????? ???????? ??????????, ?????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????????????? ???? ???????? ?????????? ?????? ?????? ????????????!

Youth Inspired returned to East Coast Park for another fun day in the sun with a Secondary 1 Cohort to strengthen their bonds and make their transition into Secondary School easier. Participants got to understand the value of diversity and the importance of working well with others through the various challenges presented to them.
