?? Exciting News: John Valverde to Keynote Project REBUILD’s 2025 Community Breakfast! ?? We are honored to welcome John Valverde, President & CEO of YouthBuild Global, as the keynote speaker for Project REBUILD’s Annual Community Breakfast this April. John has dedicated his career to creating access to opportunity and removing barriers for formerly incarcerated and marginalized individuals. His journey began in 1992, working to provide HIV/AIDS counseling, high school equivalency instruction, violence prevention programs, and college education to incarcerated individuals. In 1998, he co-founded Hudson Link for Higher Education, the first privately funded, accredited college program in New York’s prisons. As a leader of lived experience, John’s story is a powerful testament to second chances—and real first chances. His advocacy and leadership have transformed lives, making him an inspiring example for the young people of YouthBuild and beyond. His impact extends far beyond YouthBuild. He is a Marano Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a Pahara-Aspen Education Fellow, and co-chair of the National Service, Civic Engagement, and Volunteering pillar of More Perfect. Recognized as a 2022 Power 50: Movement Maker by the Boston Business Journal, he was also named one of Boston magazine’s Top 150 Most Influential Bostonians in 2024. We are thrilled for John to share his incredible journey and insights with our audience. ?? This #WomensHistoryMonth, we're honoring incredible leaders across the #YouthBuildMovement! President of the YouthBuild Leadership Council (YBLC), Sara Silva is also the Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of EntreNous Youth Empowerment Services, Inc., Compton YouthBuild, and serves as Chief Financial and Operations Officer. She has been actively involved in the YouthBuild Movement since 2012 and was the former Chair of the YouthBuild Collaborative of Southern California and Directors Fellows. Sara’s personal philosophy is that with love and hope, all things are possible. Sara’s career has focused on creating and sustaining equitable leadership, educational, and occupational opportunities for people ages 16-24+ in under-resourced communities in Los Angeles County, California.
