关于我们

Youth and Family Services YMCA was formed in 2001 as an independent social services branch of the Channel Islands YMCA. YFS currently operates four core programs that provide a continuum of care to underserved at risk youth, young adults and families experiencing homelessness, neglect and abuse in the greater Santa Barbara area. Youth, young adults and families that participate in our programs experience greater safety and well-being while they develop skills and lasting relationships to improve their resilience and build a successful independent future. St. George Youth Center St. George Youth Center has been serving Isla Vista and Goleta youth and families since 1998, providing a safe, fun, alternative space for teens during the high risk after-school hours. The youth center is open to young people in grades 6 -12, and we support the strength and achievement of youth and their families through a variety of educational, recreational, cultural and leadership opportunities. My Home at Artisan Court My Home at Artisan Court provides a place for transitional age youth (18-24) experiencing homelessness or at-risk of homelessness can find a home and build a path to independence. This supportive transitional housing program is the result of collaboration among Youth and Family Services YMCA, the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara and County Child Welfare Services. Research tells us that 65% of young people leaving foster care don’t have a place to live and 40% will be on public assistance or incarcerated within four years. At My Home, young people who were facing homelessness are not simply housed; they receive the support they need to mature into self-sufficient adults. Our on-site staff and volunteers provide case management, education advocacy and preparation, work readiness training, life skills classes, and counseling. The support that Youth and Family Services YMCA offers at My Home is funded largely through generous contributions from local foundations and individuals. In addition to many local organizations including the FoodBank, Assistance League, The Women’s Fund, Santa Barbara City College and Social Venture Partners are providing the resources needed to help our young residents beat the odds and become something great. Noah's Anchorage Youth Crisis Shelter Noah’s Anchorage Youth Crisis Shelter is a licensed residential eight-bed group home for children 10-17 years old and provides outreach to youth and young adults. Our unique services have been active in the Santa Barbara community for over 35 years and provide a trusted refuge and resource for youth and their families. Our services are available to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All services provided by Noah’s Anchorage are offered at no cost to clients. Support and Outreach Services Street Outreach: We provide on the street assistance to youth and young adults (ages 10-24) who find themselves living on the streets or being at-risk of homelessness Transitional Age Youth (TAY): Our staff works directly with youth between the ages of 16-24 who are dealing with issues related to self-sufficiency, independence, and development of personal potential. These services are targeted to youth who are transitioning or have transitioned out of foster care, the juvenile justice system, or the Noah’s Anchorage residential program.
