To foster and empower the social and emotional well-being of LGBTQIA+ youth and their families in all communities.

关于我们

Youth Seen envisions a society where young people are empowered as individuals to access non-judgmental and unbiased treatment in every aspect of their lives. We encourage the creative creation of a community that celebrates everyone’s worth, diverse characteristics and dignity. Our organization works with our communities and stands as a leader in our local Colorado area, and beyond, for establishing partnerships with groups who specifically tailor their resources, education and outreach to our youth and young QTBIPoC/QTPoC/LGBTQI community. Youth Seen strives to highlight the intersections that many communities of color face when addressing social issues that impact families that identify under the umbrella of LGBTQI. This also includes our community members identifying as gender non-conforming, non-binary, genderfluid, genderqueer and two spirit, which is often left out of the mainstream language around services. Given the current political climate, Youth Seen acknowledges the need for our vision to be a living framework which can and will be updated based on the needs of the community. As we are QTBIPoC/QTPoC providers in the community, it is our responsibility to keep the needs in focus despite what the current administration and local agenda supporters perceive. Call or text Youth Seen anytime at 970-462-7498 or email us, [email protected]!

The past few weeks have been amazing as we watched these youth come up with the idea and go through the process of writing, directing and producing an amazing pilot episode. Based off the red carpet moment, we think there might be more in store!

Day 10 in This Is America. Yesterday was rough. My early morning post yesterday, turned into a statement from YouthSeen by the end of the day. It became a reminder of what we have a head of us and what we already know. Octavia Butler has always given us insight to times such as this. One that sticks out is, In order to rise from its own ashes, a Phoenix first must burn. We are the Phoenix - We are our own ancestors. It is time for us to rise.

As we get closer to the end of the year, I reflect on the work that we have been able to accomplish in 2024. It is bitter sweet, as the excitement was so high to only come to the end of the year with disappointment of what's to come. Giving Tuesday is tomorrow, and Colorado Gives day is Dec. 10th. If you are thinking of supporting any organizations, please think about YouthSeen. The work we do to encourage our youth to been seen and heard is what's important. Take a little break and watch one of our favorite events from earlier this year, FashionSeen. Stay tuned for more chapters to come.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. As this day is usually heavy, this one feels different. This one is loud with deep grief and sadness. It is a reminder of those that we have lost from violence and what is to come. This day is a day of honor. To speak and remember the names of our loved ones that have been lost to the discrimination and struggle that we so often experience for just existing. We come together today to show our resilience. To stand on business that we won't be silenced. We won't be erased.

Day two of sitting with the news of the election: Anxiety is high, and many of us are wondering about the next steps. Yesterday, we rested. Today, we plan, organize, and mobilize. It’s time to turn toward the light that guides us and reconnect with the support systems that have always uplifted our community. We are seeking therapists, case managers, healers, doulas, medicine workers, and elders— reconnecting with those who can help us restore and strengthen our collective resilience.
