The past few weeks have been amazing as we watched these youth come up with the idea and go through the process of writing, directing and producing an amazing pilot episode. Based off the red carpet moment, we think there might be more in store!

As Black History Month continues to shine bright, YouthSeen was recognized along with 60 other organizations as we all uplift our communities in our unwavering fight for freedom and justice here in Denver. And we are back, now asking for Gov. Jared Polis to work with Phil Weiser to protect our youth. Your guidance and intervention is needed. There will be deadly consequences to our community if you stay silent with our health systems not providing life saving care.

As the NYS Attorney General Letitia James stands up for our trans and non-binary youth, we hope that our Colorado AG Phil Weiser will do the same and stand next to her.

Day 10 in This Is America. Yesterday was rough. My early morning post yesterday, turned into a statement from YouthSeen by the end of the day. It became a reminder of what we have a head of us and what we already know. Octavia Butler has always given us insight to times such as this. One that sticks out is, In order to rise from its own ashes, a Phoenix first must burn. We are the Phoenix - We are our own ancestors. It is time for us to rise.

Day two of sitting with the news of the election: Anxiety is high, and many of us are wondering about the next steps. Yesterday, we rested. Today, we plan, organize, and mobilize. It’s time to turn toward the light that guides us and reconnect with the support systems that have always uplifted our community. We are seeking therapists, case managers, healers, doulas, medicine workers, and elders— reconnecting with those who can help us restore and strengthen our collective resilience.

At YouthSeen, we recognize that moments like these can be challenging, especially for our QTBIPOC community. In times of adversity, our commitment to equity, justice, and inclusivity remains unwavering. We stand in solidarity with all those who may feel vulnerable and afraid, and we are here to support you. This election underscores the importance of continuing our fight for the rights, dignity, and safety of all people. Now, more than ever, we must remain resilient, united, and steadfast in our advocacy for a future where all individuals are valued and respected for who they are. We encourage you to lean on one another and to remember that our community is a source of strength. Together, we will continue to work toward a more just and inclusive world.
