Some great takeaways from our convo with Nicole Wojno Smith, CMO at Stay AI during her time at Tackle. 1) Brands need to be/should be, thoughtful when beginning their agency search. Those that prioritize the search and the beginning of the relationship are already ahead of most. 2) Nicole talks about how building out her team and resources is never perfect. in 2024, brands have no shortage of options. Agency v freelancer v FTE. And, there's no 100% right answer. Trial by fire, making mistakes, and learning from them is the way to go. Listen to our entire convo in the comments.

Great takeaways from our convo with Kathleen Booth, SVP of Marketing + Growth at Pavilion. 1) Feedback is the lifeblood of the client <> agency relationship and the industry in general. Some great takeaways from our convo with Alan Magee, VP of Marketing at Empire Portfolio Group. Full episode linked in the comments. 1) In 2024, most agencies, do more than one thing. Generally, they have a sweet spot though. It's usually not EVERY one of their offerings. Hard to be the best at all the things. You should seek to find an agency that specializes in solving the problem YOU are facing. 2) AOR's are a dying breed. RIP.

Great takeaways from our convo with Hedy Payghambari of Braze, during her time at Blaze Pizza. 1) You stand out by knowing your stuff. You stand out even more by showcasing that knowledge and how it applies to a brand's specific problem. 2) Community is everything. If you are an agency, and you haven't figured out a referral strategy or how to get people to say good things about you...you're missing out on business. Full episode linked in the comments.

Some wildly relevant takeaways from our convo with Jason Schulweis of The Female Quotient -- during his time spent at Morning Brew. 1) The client agency relationship has its ups and downs. Strong relationships are built from how you react and move forward from the bad. No relationship is all roses. 2) Early on in your career -- do all the things. Try all the things. Say yes to most of the things :) You'll be glad you did. Full episode linked in the comments.

An interesting quote from our chat with Olga Andrienko, VP of Brand Marketing at Semrush. (Full episode linked in the comments). We tend to agree. While we know plenty of healthy client <> agency relationships, there is almost always a palpable tension mixed throughout the relationship. Why is that? Generally, because both sides are not communicating as much or as candidly as they should be. Communication alleviates that tension and leads to long term net positive outcomes for both sides.

Before going into hot dog + burger mode for the 4th -- let's take a trip to Italy. Carrabba's Italian Grill needed a social media agency. YouShouldTalkTo made intro's to 3 agencies that fit the desired budget AND aligned culturally. 1 agency stood out and won the business. That's amore. Go get some chicken parm, today :)
