YPMO’s final look back for our 15th Anniversary celebration is a project from 2023! The City of Phoenix Street Transportation Department selected YPMO to provide public outreach services for the Negative Offset Median Improvements project at six intersections throughout Phoenix: 7th?Avenue and Bell Road, 16th?Street and Greenway Parkway, 29thStreet and Greenway Road, 40th?Street and Greenway Road, 43rd?Avenue and Peoria Avenue, and 51st?Avenue and Vineyard Road. The purpose of the project was to improve driver’s visibility for on-coming vehicles at the intersections in left turn lanes and to increase overall public safety by modifying raised medians and left turn configurations at these intersections. YPMO reviewed the design plans and prepared maps with expertly designed graphics that were clear and depicted the areas where the public could anticipate work would be completed at each intersection. The maps were included in our construction notices that described the various improvements for each area, finalized the postcard mailers with the City, and mailed to residences in May 2023. Our team, Angela Garcia and Jaimie Clements hand delivered the notices and discussed the work with the businesses at each intersection. While construction was originally anticipated to conclude in November 2023, the work was extended due to material delays. YPMO prepared construction updates and re-notified the residences and businesses that work would continue through mid-2024. We hope you enjoyed?learning more about YPMO and the experience we’ve gained over?past 15 years! We’ve enjoyed working with all our clients throughout Arizona on such a vast variety of capital improvement projects (streets, sewer, and water), water conservation education, as well as marketing services such as informational radio ads, videos, and websites. A special shout out to our specialty vendors,?MetroPrinting?and?Westside Signarama, who’ve helped us with printing and project signage over the years – we could not have done it without you! Here’s to the next 15! #15projectsfor15years

YPMO’s 15th Anniversary celebration continues with a look back at 2022! The Flood Control District of Maricopa County (FCDMC) completed the Laveen Area Drainage Master Study/Plan Update (ADMS/P Update) in December 2017. This update identified, compared, and recommended alternative solutions to mitigate flooding hazards in the watershed for the 27th Avenue and Olney Avenue area. In 2020, the FCDMC held a public meeting to discuss the project and that the Design Bid Build process was underway. In 2022, the contractor and construction manager for the project, Revolution Industrial, who was familiar with working with?Anne Thompson?on other large municipal infrastructure projects, selected YPMO for PIO services during the installation of the new storm?drain pipe?and catch basins along the north side of Olney Avenue between 24th Avenue and 27th Avenue, and on the east side of 27th Avenue between Olney Avenue and South Mountain Avenue. The project included clearing and grubbing in early January 2023; sidewalk removal and replacement; curb and gutter removal and replacement; light pole removal and replacement; relocation of fire hydrants; storm drain installation; catch basin installation; and hardscape and landscape restoration. Throughout the 19 months of construction, YPMO’s team prepared and distributed 25 notifications to the community, businesses, schools, and emergency services for the various traffic and water restrictions. The intersection of 27th?Avenue and Dobbins Road was closed for several months and detours re-routed traffic for miles around the area. YPMO communicated via eblasts to update a list of area schools,?businesses,?and emergency services. The excavations and trenching for the 60-inch storm drain along the 27th?Avenue easement was executed with extreme care and coordination with the community. This stretch of 27th?Avenue is home to some who still continued to horseback for recreation through the construction zone. The residents who lived in the area were hopeful that these improvements would help them with future flooding and were looking forward to the installation of a new sidewalk and landscape in this rural area of Phoenix. #15projectsfor15years
