Women are responding to anticipated Trump-era threats to contraceptive access. We're deeply saddened by reports of unprecedented demand for IUD replacements before expiration dates, increased inquiries for permanent sterilization and overwhelming requests for mifepristone. Aid Access reports >5K requests for mifepristone in less than 12 hours, a surge that beat the one after Roe v. Wade’s reversal. With an unintended pregnancy rate of 46% in the U.S., it's absolutely critical that access to contraceptives INCREASE, not decrease. We're working hard to deliver the first hormone-free male birth control pill, but threats to women's contraceptive access must stop. Thank you, Laura Ungar of The Associated Press, for your reporting. https://lnkd.in/eqZZpY2Q

Women's reproductive rights are a central issue in our election. Guttmacher Institute's October Fact Sheet offers a great review of the latest data. In short, abortions haven't decreased (just the opposite) but access and safety have. A few points to consider as you head to the polls: *The overall number of abortions increased by 11% since 2020. That's the highest number measured in the United States in over a decade. *Abortion bans mean more women must travel for care and absorb significant financial and logistical hurdles. Consider these facts alongside the recent JAMA study showing that self-managed abortions are on the rise. Check the facts, bring your outrage to the polls and support safe access to abortion care, which will improve women's access to contraceptives. https://lnkd.in/gHhquZqV https://lnkd.in/gPHf8mtc

YCT-529 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert? Yes! On Tuesday night, Stephen called out Axios' article on our new study during "Meanwhile." Want to see it? Click the link and scroll almost to the end. If you watch it, you'll know why we end with this: Stephen, stay away from the scrotox! #latenight #stephencolbert #malebirthcontrol #noscrotox https://lnkd.in/ervNKSRs

Celebrating President Biden and Vice President Harris for their efforts to make contraceptives as broadly accessible as possible. They've added to the protections offered by the Affordable Care Act, which made contraceptives more accessible and affordable for millions of women. Their latest proposal expands on this by ensuring women can get new over-the-counter (OTC) contraceptives without a prescription at no additional cost. Finally, a win for women's reproductive health! #contraceptives #access #womenshealth #reproductivehealth #win https://lnkd.in/g8qCTUya

Our CEO and co-founder Akash Bakshi sat down with Tina Reed of Axios to discuss YCT-529 and the plans for our second human study. Check out Tina’s article and like+repost. #innovation #biotech #startup #pillformen
Thank you Tina Reed at Axios for the terrific conversation and article. We’re grateful for your interest in our work to bring the first hormone-free male birth control pill across the finish line. Men need more birth control options — and they need them quickly.? ? Check out Tina’s article to read about our second human study for YCT-529, which we announced last week. We’ve got lots of work ahead but we’re one step closer to delivering the first hormone-free birth control pill for men. ? #startup #biotech #research #science #malebirthcontrol #onestepcloser?

Tomorrow is World Contraception Day, one of our favorites. Access to contraceptives is priority #1 in the U.S. and globally. Having contraceptive choices is next. We're glad to be a part of the future, which includes not only more contraceptive choices--including new options for men--but also contraceptive options that are hormone-free. #access #healthequity #options #future #hormonefree

Today, we announced the start of our SECOND human study for YCT-529. We couldn’t be more thrilled. YCT-529 is the only hormone-free male birth control pill being studied in humans. Our first human study showed YCT-529 was safe. Our second human study—a phase 1b/2a trial—will involve multiple ascending doses of YCT-529 to determine tolerability and effect on sperm count. The study is taking place in New Zealand and will enroll up to 50 male volunteers aged 28-70. We expect to announce results in 2025. We’re grateful to our volunteers, investors,?the PI of this study Rohit Katial, NZCR, Quotient Sciences, and Southern Star Research. We’re also grateful to our followers. A male birth control pill has been a vision for more than 70 years. Please share our news. Your support helps create the terrific momentum that will help make a male birth control pill a reality. #innovation #future #malebirthcontrol #pioneer #hormonefree https://lnkd.in/eq57rAXc

The fallout from Roe vs. Wade's reversal continues: 41 states have bans or restrictions on abortion. Research has long indicated that abortion bans of all types have the greatest impact on people in marginalized groups. A potentially valuable part of the solution: More male birth control options. Thank you, Guttmacher Institute, for tracking the data. #womenshealth #womenshealthmatters #reproductivehealth #birthcontrol https://lnkd.in/ekGepwci.

A new study affirms "high demand for novel male contraceptives among both men and their partners, supporting investment in their development." The survey results show high interest in novel contraceptives among men and trust from their female partners. Of note: *61% of men showed interest in trying novel male contraceptives in their first year of availability. *Across countries, the majority of women said they would trust their partner to take the contraceptive. *In all countries, the form of contraceptive was most important. Less invasive forms of birth control--pill, gel and patch--were most preferred. More invasive forms had significantly lower odds of uptake across countries. The survey represents the attitudes of more than 12K men and their female partners across seven countries, specifically highlighting attitudes in low- and middle-income countries. #future #malebirthcontrol #innovation #data https://lnkd.in/eZ2XuEAc

Contraception is one of the "10 great public health achievements of the 20th century," says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We're focused on making this achievement even stronger by bringing the first male birth control pill to market. Even better, it's hormone-free. Follow our progress and be a part of history. #future #publichealth #pregnancyprevention #malebirthcontrol #innovation
