What a week for celebrating deep tech innovation! The Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) wrapped up our 2023/24 cohort in spectacular fashion with nearly 1000 attendees at #SuperSession2024. Hundreds of founders, mentors, investors, partners and esteemed guests from across our 13 international sites descended on Toronto to celebrate the graduation of another exciting batch of deep tech startups working to #buildsomethingmassive.
With insightful talks by Chris Hadfield, Sendhil Mullainathan, Katherine Homuth, John Martinis, Shivon Zilis, Suzanne Gildert and Christian Weedbrook, hundreds of one-on-one meetings, hours of high-value networking, and insightful venture workshops run by Alison Sunstrum, Doug Sinclair, Rhiannon Davies (she/her), Salar Javid, Shahram Tafazoli, Allen Lau, I'm perpetually amazed and humbled by the calibre of the CDL Network. I learn something at every Session.
To cap it all off, CDL announced a thrilling new partnership with XPRIZE to bring our mentorship model and community to their top applicants from the $100M carbon removal challenge! Talk about changing the world with innovation.
If you haven't heard of the Creative Destruction Lab yet, we are a non-profit mentorship program for massively scalable seed stage deep tech startups. Since Ajay Agrawal launched CDL in 2012, thousands of deep tech founders have participated in our fast-paced objective-setting program. As of today, CDL alumni have gone on to generate over $35B in equity value through the commercialization of their science and technology.
