What if help for substance use issues were as easy to access as drugs? What if treatment options were driven by data and individual preference instead of tradition? What will recovery-oriented, whole person care look like in 2050? How are we going to build it? That's what we are asking ourselves at YourPath. We believe that the future of care will match effective, data-driven, evidence-based medical and behavioral healthcare for substance use disorders with the decidedly low-tech magic of authentic human connections. Things we're into: Characters and brilliant people of all flavors, machine learning and AI, harm reduction, health equity, recovery supports, high-school dropouts, policy and advocacy, SMS-based tech stuff, solutions to the most-stubborn issues in behavioral health cobbled together with tape and give a shit, recovery community organizations and peer supports, wild and scalable ideas to make healthcare suck less.

    We’re so fortunate to have a CMO like Steve who truly understands and values how harm reduction and recovery services work in concert with person-centered, low-barrier medical services.     Enjoyed presenting a keynote on the Neurobiology of SUD and its intersection with trauma, along with a workshop on current and emerging pharmacological treatments for SUD at the Wyoming Methamphetamine and SUD Conference in Casper, WY this week. Great conversations on how we can do outreach into communities and in-reach to those experiencing incarceration.     Most of the people we serve at YourPath are experiencing some disruption in their housing. This decision further perpetuates failed thinking, failed policies, and a fundamentally amoral approach to caring for our communities and relatives.

    In their recent decision, the US Supreme Court have chosen to make being homeless that much more difficult. There are currently over 650,000 homeless individuals in the US. Numerous issues play a part in that number. Rising home prices, lack of affordable and stable housing, job instability, generational poverty, substance use, mental health struggles....and the list goes on and on. This decision makes housing instability that much worse - negatively affecting individuals, families, our community. RS EDEN is honored to be able support those in our community with safe, stable, and affordable housing. Everyone deserves a "place to call home".

    Our CMO, Steve Delisi (he/him) and CEO, Jordan Hansen presented at National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers - NAATP’s annual conference this week, communicating the moral imperative around increasing access to effective care — especially partial-agonist and agonist medications for opioid use disorder. We often share this quote in this presentation, highlighting the beliefs that AA founder Bill Wilson shared with AA trustee Vincent Dole. Dr. Dole and his wife and partner Dr. Marie Nyswander are considered the “founders” of methadone maintenance programs, having established the first officially sanctioned programs in New York City. The fact that Bill W. was constantly searching for a more humane and effective approach to ease suffering is a guide to how we might frame our current discussions.
