Earlier this month, Young Leaders Fund hosted it's 2024/2025 Kickoff at The Library at 190 Stacks. It was a beautiful venue and the event was fantastic! We had Matt Shomo from The Chicago Community Trust speak on The Trust's Growing Household Wealth and Home Ownership program as well as 2024 YLF grant partner, Hey Benji, Nonprofit Organization's Barbara Graham speak on her organization and the impact YLF's support had for them. The Springboard Foundation Fund is opening its grant cycle for 2025 funding! OVERVIEW: We fund small nonprofits that provide critical afterschool programs in under-invested neighborhoods in Chicago. Our funding style is venture philanthropy light providing general operating and capacity-building support to start-up nonprofits and their intrepid leaders for 5 years. First-year grantees receive general operating fund grants between $3,500-$7,500 plus capacity-building funds. Based on the results of the annual evaluation, we increase the grant amount by $2,500-$5,000 every year until graduation.
