"SUPER TUFF", a 90s-inspired collection for The Athletic ripe for summer. Humbly featuring: Strawberry bad boy, tiger with very little fear, flames, rudeness
Presenting our latest The Athletic capsule, SUPER TUFF. We are so proud of this 90’s inspired collection. The story behind?SUPER TUFF is simple - the designs are inspired by our childhood nostalgia (born in the 80s, kids of the 90s), skater vibes, composition notebooks, and neon colors; a carefree throwback to when life was light. SUPER TUFF is tongue-in-cheek because we're not really?“tough”. We don't take ourselves too seriously, except for being serious about having fun. SUPER TUFF is born out of a Zoom call with our pals at Young Jerks where we discovered our shared love of Thundercats and Casio watches. That call turned into a mood board, more Zoom calls, and culminated in some of the designs you see today (you didn’t think we’d show you everything, did you? ??) Incredible collaborations with new and old friends to get this capsule from Zoom call to Illustrator file to 3-D. I’ll highlight these collaborations separately because putting them all in one post would turn this into a wall of text, and if you are reading this on LinkedIn chances are you are already being subjected to a lot of those. Pack of the Month over at the Dieline for Wildfish. We had a great chat with Bill at the Dieline and share some process as well as alternate options for the final branding.
Our May 2024 Pack of the Month, Wildfish Cannery. The #rebrand, courtesy of?Young Jerks, delivers a timeless design with gorgeous type and a “W” comprised of two kissing salmon. What’s more, this classic #design looks like it’s been hanging out in your folks’ pantry since they moved in. And I mean that in the best way possible, as it feels like a snacking staple that’s been hanging around for eons.
