A month ago, I had the privilege of helping plan and host a networking event for early-career professionals in the entertainment industry. This event was a collaborative effort between the Young Entertainment Professionals, the organization I founded, and the non-profit Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF). Over the past year, I’ve been part of a volunteer panel organized by EIF, dedicated to creating community events for emerging professionals in our industry, many of whom face unique challenges in these difficult times. Working alongside EIF and using the resources of Young Entertainment Professionals to foster connection has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The event was a resounding success, with an incredible turnout of around 200 attendees. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces from over the years. This event really reminded me why I continue to do this. We also created a resource-sharing wall, where attendees could share tools and resources that have supported them during challenging times in the industry.
