We are hosting two summer sessions in Washington, DC — the first taking place July 14 through 17 and the second taking place July 29 through August 1. Our #CivicsforAllofUS initiative promotes civic literacy and engagement through interactive in-person and online programs for teachers and students across the U.S. Each week, 50 educators will learn how to use National Archives holdings to teach the civic knowledge and skills students need for civic engagement in the 21st century. This CTE Month, let’s celebrate learner achievements and share their stories. By amplifying their voices, it fosters a sense of pride and community, increases program visibility, and broadens perspectives on the wide range of programs that Career Technical Education (CTE) has to offer. How can you contribute? ?? Celebrate their wins–recognize them with awards, social media shoutouts, or local media coverage. ?? Give them a platform–encourage them to create videos or write blog posts about their CTE journey, speak at events, or participate in contests to showcase their work. ?? Get their input–offer opportunities for feedback through ambassador programs, advisory boards, or focus groups. They can also help design CTE promotional materials! 2025 Emerging Voices Fellowship. NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS. Nine fellowships of $1,500 each and participation in a virtual five-month mentorship program, which includes one-on-one mentorship with an established writer; introductions to editors, agents, and publishers; a professional headshot; and a one-year PEN America membership, are given annually to emerging poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers “from communities that are traditionally underrepresented in the publishing world.” Fellows also participate in workshops on editing, marketing, and building a professional platform.
