关于我们

Young Audiences New York wants all children in our city to experience and create art! We provide distinctive opportunities across the arts - music, dance, theatre, visual and digital art - for children and teens from kindergarten through high school. Each year, our profressional, practicing artists teach more than 45,000 children and youth in New York City's public schools and community centers. For many of these children and their families, Young Audiences New York provides their only access to the arts. We believe that no matter what kind of work today’s children will go on to do as tomorrow’s grown-ups, they will need to be confident experimenting and innovating, influencing others, expressing new ideas, thinking globally, and teaming up with a diversity of people to make things happen. Young Audiences New York helps children develop these important 21st century skills through programs led by our talented and diverse company of professional Artist Educators and key relationships with school and community partners, donors, and funders.

CEO at Urban Arts | YPO Metro Gold I Speaks on Nonprofit Management, Arts & Tech Education

I am thrilled to announce that Urban Arts will be honoring Josh Feldman and NBCUniversal at our upcoming Color Ball for their unwavering commitment to Urban Arts and the nonprofit sector. Since our partnership began in 2020, NBCUniversal has connected more than 100 of our students with industry mentors and opened doors to life-changing opportunities. This year alone, NBCU employees helped our students access $3 million in college scholarships—a testament to their dedication to shaping the next generation of innovators. At Urban Arts we teach digital game design as a pathway to college and career. Urban Arts’ after-school game design program—complete with coding, animation, storytelling & music—leads students to pursue multidisciplinary college degrees. This surprising approach is moving the needle for computer science education access, economic mobility as well as the future of industry. Beyond his leadership at NBCUniversal, Josh has made a lasting impact through his service on the boards of the YMCA of Greater New York Letters Committee and Young Audiences New York. With a deep-rooted passion for education, Josh has been a driving force in expanding opportunities for young people—ensuring that talent, not circumstance, defines their success. Join us on April 10th. Meet Josh and our amazing students. Many thanks to Kimberly King, Hilary Smith, Jessica Clancy and Samantha Cammarata for being the wind beneath our wings.

Our Access to Mentorship Program (AMP) students from Central Park East High School recently experienced an awe-inspiring visit to the ESPN office at South Street Seaport in NYC! During their time at the multimedia sports entertainment company students had the extraordinary opportunity to learn directly from ESPN’s industry experts, tour their studios, and gain an insider's perspective into the dynamic world of sports media. They also had a behind-the scenes and first-hand look at the intricacies of lighting, framing, and storytelling while receiving invaluable insights into potential future career opportunities. This field trip was the perfect match for one of our students who had already enrolled in a film course coming up this summer, bringing him one step closer to achieving his future goal! We extend our deepest gratitude to the ESPN team for their remarkable generosity and unwavering support in shaping the dreams of our students. About the Young Audiences New York AMP Spring 2024 Program:? This spring, students from Central Park East High School are immersing themselves in the art of digital photography under the guidance of YANY Teaching Artist Brennan Cavanaugh. Through 25 engaging sessions, students will delve into the history and application of photography, participate in peer critique sessions, and develop their own individualized portfolio. As they explore their passion for photography, each student will craft a unique artist statement to accompany their work, fostering creativity and self-expression.?
