Alongside Heidy Wiegel, we once again organized this incredible webinar for colleagues and members spanning Brazil, the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, Poland, Dubai, and beyond. It was an honour to guide this diverse group through the ever-evolving world of Personal Branding on LinkedIn. Muna and I dove deep into the latest innovations from the past two years, and the pace was faster than ever! I just saw this video that perfectly captured this idea. Two boys were racing to pick up balls and put them in a basket. One started close, the other far away. At first, it seemed obvious who had the advantage, the boy who started near the basket. But as the game went on, something unexpected happened. The boy who started farther away won. Why? Because while the easy path feels like the right choice in the moment, the long-term game often tells a different story. Success works the same way. The ones who push beyond what’s comfortable, who take on the bigger challenges, who put in more effort, they end up ahead. Not because it was easy, but because they built the resilience, discipline and momentum that others didn’t. Most people choose what’s convenient. The real winners choose what’s worth it. Wow, this is start-up life in 15 seconds ?? I just came across this incredible video where skiers perform a front flip. Turbulent, chaotic, and somehow, they manage to land it (well, most of them). It immediately reminded me of the journey of a startup entrepreneur. Right? You start with power and confidence, ready to take on the world. Then, mid-flight, reality kicks in: unexpected challenges, factors beyond your control, and moments where improvisation is the only option. It’s messy, it’s unpredictable, and sometimes it looks crazy. But here’s the thing: you have to take that deep dive to even have a chance. Even if it’s not perfect, landing on your feet is a win. And even if you don’t, trying is where the magic happens. Social selling is the same: start today, or you’ll never have a chance at all.
