*Job Spotlight* Juvenile Detention Counselor The County of York is currently seeking to hire individuals for full-time and part-time Juvenile Detention Counselor positions in our Juvenile Detention Center located in York, PA. Earn $23.00/hr. to start. Also earn a $1.00/hr. shift differential for 2nd or 3rd shifts; and another $1.00/hr. for working shifts on the weekend. A minimum of 60 college credits are required. York County participates in the Public Loan Service Forgiveness Program, and we offer tuition reimbursement to those who qualify. Earn paid time off upon hire. Looking for financial security? We officially opened York County's Reentry Opportunity Center (ROC). The first of its kind in Pennsylvania. We are taking bold steps and once again, we are leading the way. As a county leader, solving problems with a holistic approach is essential if we want to tackle systemic issues, and drive sustainable change. The ROC is an excellent example of a collaborative approach that has brought together a spectrum of stakeholders ensuring all had a seat at the table. There were many organizations and individuals that made this center possible, all having a common and shared desire; to provide those re-entering society with the resources to help them lead prodcutive lives and reduce the chance of recidivism. We welcome and encourage every opporutnity we have for partnerships, innovation, and creativity, to get a job done. We identifed excess capacity at our prison and evaluated how to productively utilize the unused space. This space is now the ROC and it is one more example of good fiscal stewardship and creativity at work. The location is ideal as it is located near a major bus route, near food and shopping, and near employers who hire reentrants. One of our County's Guiding Principles is "We Are Innovative". The center is a fantastic example of this. Our county's team of professionals are constantly looking proactively for efficient and effective solutions to problems within our community. We consistently seek opportunities to improve the way things get doen and streamline our services.
