We have been serving the York Community for 90 years as a United Way Member Agency. We have been Awarded National Accreditation by NAEYC and a Four Star Performance designation (the highest level) by PA Keystone STARS for providing a safe, stimulating environment. York Day Nursery offers educational programs designed around children’s developmental levels and interests. With 30 Direct Care Educators, we have a low child to teacher ratio. Our modern facility is open 6:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday (Year round), and provides a nutritional breakfast, hot lunch, and afternoon snack daily.

York Day Early Learning has been supporting advocacy efforts to increase public and private support for high-quality early learning for 93 years. Governor Shapiro's proposed budget includes $55M in a new line item to focus on early learning recruitment and retention efforts. Supporting the workforce behind the workforce can ONLY strengthen our economy. Early learning professionals deserve to be paid well. Families deserve affordable care. What if we rewrote a faulty script? Re: Early Childhood Education First, let's get rid of the terms daycare and childcare. They are outdated and off base. Please, do not use them anymore. Second, let's ask our early learning teachers, directors, and entrepreneurs what they are in the business of selling. It's not simply supervision and safety, although both are important components of a high-quality early childhood education program. In Dan Wuori's new book, The Daycare Myth, he shares his answer: early childhood education is "the optimization of human potential and co-creation of brain architecture." My wish in 2025 and beyond is that we recognize the importance of high-quality early childhood education AND sustainably fund it. For the teachers, administrators, and small business owners who devote their lives to co-creating brain architecture. And for the children whose lives are being optimized. We’ve been Falling into all kinds of apple fun! Our Pre-K classes had an applesauce day filled with apple activities in all three rooms. We rotated through the classroom stations- applesauce making, sensory/art/STEM, and a gross motor/game room. The changing seasons are a great opportunity to incorporate seasonal activities to keep students engaged ?? #yorksyoungestlearners #greatbeginningsforbrightfutures #investinearlyeducation
