YCSWA would like to welcome a new Board Member! Michael Hershey is the Director of Electricity Supply at Shipley Energy. He officially became a YCSWA Board Member in October of 2024. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems and Supply Chain Management from University of Pittsburgh. He is the Second Vice President - Susquehanna Valley Jaguar Club and resides in Spring Garden Township. November 15th is America Recycles Day! As we take this week to celebrate, we want to remind you that there is more than one way to recycle! Here are just a few ideas: -Repurpose or resell unwanted items that are in good usable condition? -Compost food and yard waste -Donate gently used clothing, shoes, and furniture It’s important to dispose of trash in the proper way and to recycle whenever possible to maintain a healthy planet. We had great weather for Hauler Appreciation Day. Last week, YCSWA and Reworld Waste showed our appreciation for our trash haulers and other customers with coffee and doughnuts, along with lunch from Killer Eats and small gift of our appreciation! To make the day even more exciting, President Commissioner, Julie Wheeler, and Vice President Commissioner, Scott Burford, joined YCSWA staff to serve lunch to the haulers. Thank you, trash haulers, for the work you do each day to keep York County clean and safe. #keepyorkcountycleanandsafe
