Another great program from the Friends of the History Center. The group's latest If These Walls Could Talk event March 30 presents the history of the Valencia Ballroom. Jamie Noerpel and Domi Miller handle the storytelling. Proceeds support the Friends and their work on behalf of the History Center.

The History Center is selling our building at 250 E. Market St., and we're holding a used office furnishings sale to help us empty the building. Desks, filing cabinets, shelves office chairs and more are priced to sell. Here are the details: When: 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 24 Where: 250 E. Market St., York Terms: Pay with cash, check or credit card. Be prepared to haul away that day, or make arrangements to haul away Feb. 28. Spend 11 days (Sept. 21 to Oct. 1) rolling through the mountains of Italy and Switzerland by train, visiting some of the region's most picturesque spots.
