We’re an American Lab, and we’re extremely proud of it!??We chose “American Lab Holiday Ale” as the title of our annual holiday beer, and introduce it as we always do with a video of our laboratory staff and client teams belting out a classic rock’n’roll tune. This year’s holiday brew is the eighth year in a row working with our friends (and Geologists) at Lithology Brewing Company in Farmingdale, NY, who carefully craft our annual ale. “We celebrate America this year as we are focused on helping the rest of our new team at ALS become the lab of choice in the USA,” says Michael J. Beckerich, President of York-ALS.?“The focus of our growth has been, and will continue to be, on teamwork that is anchored by strong relationships, trust and respect. Today’s event hosted by Save The Great South Bay at The View entitled “Understanding the Clean Water Plan” was very wellattended and tremendously informative with a great list of speakers including Julie Tighe from the New York League of Conservation Voters, Ryan Stanton from LI Federation of Labor, Jen Juengst from Suffolk County, Kevin Mcdonald and Adrienne Esposito from Citizens Campaign for the Environment. After listening to the discussion, it is hard to believe that anyone would be opposed to protecting clean water by expanding sewers and building up the wastewater infrastructure in Long Island. The old septic system network is a relic! Vote YES to Prop 2! Thanks to Robyn Silvestri and Todd J. Shaw for asking me to attend today and answer any questions on PFAS testing. Go team! PFAS Regulatory Roundtable Webinar Recap. Thank you to NJ LSRPA - Licensed Site Remediation Professionals Association for the opportunity for Joseph Ravino, our Laboratory Director in Toms River, NJ, to co-present "PFAS Analysis Trends: What Remediation Professionals Need to Know" at the October Regulatory Roundtable. Joe and our expert partner in the presentation -- thank you, Marshall E. King, P.E., LSRP -- provided a session that easily could have stretched for 2 hours given the depth of informtion and insight they shared. Joe focused on detailing for LSRPs vital information on PFAS testing workflows, sample preparation, turnaround times and analyses challenges. Regarding future PFAS testing landscapes, Joe spoke about the number of PFAS out there (some definitions > 7 million) and existing limitations on what's being tested for today (i.e., 40 compounds listed in EPA Method 1633). Laboratories like York-ALS will continue to innovate quickly to the fast-changing landscape to service PFAS regulatory needs and will be there as future testing technologies are adopted. #GotPFAS #laboratoryofchoice #GlobalPFASTesting Michael J. If you haven’t been to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum lately, go get your baseball on! I had the great pleasure of throwing out the first pitch for this weekend’s Villanova University Baseball team game vs LeMoyne College at historic Doubleday Field. We won 16-3 and the boys looked very strong! I envision a great season for Kevin Mulvey’s Wildcats squad this year. In addition to a nice win, our friends at the HoF gave a group of Villanova Baseball alumni (David Hunt ‘94, Scott Reidenbach ‘93 and Kevin Mulvey ‘95) a tour of the basement archives. I am pictured holding Babe Ruth’s bat… notice we are all wearing gloves! Thanks again to Jason Schiellack and the HoF team for rolling out the red carpet for our Villanova University baseball bunch!
