Last week, the U.S. Department of Labor clarified FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) benefits for clinical trial participation—a significant step forward for healthcare equity. We couldn’t be more thrilled! ?? In their statement, the DOL clarified that?clinical trial participation is now officially recognized as "treatment" under FMLA, granting eligible employees job-protected leave for their trial participation. The decision eliminates a major barrier to trial participation, especially for underserved populations, and paves?the way for more inclusive and diverse clinical trials. By recognizing trial participation as a valid form of treatment, the DOL has empowered patients to pursue clinical trials as a care option and to?contribute meaningfully to advances in drug research and development. #ClinicalTrials #HealthcareEquity #FMLA?

These days, it seems like?everyone is obsessed with AI. At Yonalink, we're not obsessed with artificial intelligence, we're obsessed with real intelligence. Yonalink provides sponsors with real data, in real time, by streaming clinical trial data directly from the EHR to the EDC and reducing?manual errrors and SDV time. Ready to get real? Let's talk. https://lnkd.in/d3dE4Cth

What can you do in 3 minutes? 1?? Make a cup of coffee 2?? Prepare a sandwich 3?? Check your email 4?? Restart your computer 5?? Read the day's news headlines A study by EHR2EDC Consortium found it takes 3 minutes to manually transfer and validate just one clinical trial data point from EHR to EDC. With 3.6 million data points in a typical Phase III oncology trial, that’s 180,000 hours of manual work. Think that sounds excessive? We think so too. That’s why Yonalink developed automatic EHR-to-EDC streaming to eliminate busywork and reduce human errors. Real-time data for sponsors, more time for trial staff – maybe even enough time to make lunch.

Once again, CNS Summit (Collaborating for Novel Solutions) showed us the benefits and importance of working together to find relevant, realistic solutions for today's biggest clinical trial challenges. So many wonderful insights and conversations. Thanks again to everyone who connected with the Yonalink team and to Dawn Brockett and AMIR KALALI, MD for hosting. A final thought from Gav Martell's Innovation Presentation: "EHR-to-EDC is no longer just a future innovation; it’s a proven technology available today, capable of handling all data types on a global scale. The cost of entry is low enough where manual data entry is no longer practical. In a few years, it’s unlikely anyone will still be typing in data when it can be seamlessly streamed. It’s thrilling to witness this technology evolve from concept to reality in just a few short years." #CNSSummit2024

According to a 2023 study by CISCRP?(The Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation), it’s not just about personal benefit. 53% of participants say they’re motivated by the desire to improve the lives of others, and 55% want to help advance science. In contrast, only 39% are focused on their own condition. It’s a powerful reminder that clinical trials aren’t just about finding solutions – they’re about enabling patients to find meaning in their journey and?offering hope to future generations.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring meetup at Yonalink’s Tel Aviv office, bringing together medical centers and CROs from across Israel. Yonalink CEO and Co-Founder Iddo Peleg kicked off the morning with a look at Israel’s leadership potential in the clinical trials industry, thanks to the connectivity of medical centers nationwide to Yonalink's global medical center network. Sapir Balas, Yonalink's Customer Success Manager, then presented the data from a recent Yonalink pilot study, and Hilla Erlank, Product Manager, did a brief demo outlining the benefits of EHR-to-EDC data streaming and some of Yonalink's unique features. The meetup concluded with an inspiring presentation by Yuval Kadosh, father of Amit Kadosh, who spoke about the harrowing and ultimately successful journey towards finding a relevant clinical trial and rare bone marrow match for his six year old daughter who battled leukemia. We look forward to many future meetups around the world, as Yonalink's global network continues to expand.
