We believe a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our health, our neighbors, and our employees.
关于我们
The Y is a cause-driven organization focused on three key areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We believe a strong community can only be achieved when we invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors. Our programs, services, and initiatives enable youth to realize their potential, offer families ways to have fun together, empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind and body, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster social responsibility.

The YMCA proudly announces a significant contribution of $10,000 from Amazon to support Summer Late Nite. This generous donation was used to provide participants weekly $55 Amazon gift cards at five different locations, rewarding teens who demonstrated exemplary behavior throughout the summer. Amazon’s support of Summer Late Nite was driven by its core values of “Success and Scale Bring Broad Responsibility” and “Learn and Be Curious.” These principles guided the selection of the winners, ensuring that the awards not only recognized high participation but also personal growth and positive behavior. Meet Shane! Shane serves as Senior Youth Program Director at the Tom Taylor Family Y. He has boundless energy and passion for working with kids and seeing them grow into strong leaders. So much so that he has too much energy. So, what is Shane to do? Run 100 miles in one day, of course! On September 23, Shane will run through each YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap County center and camp, starting at the Haselwood Family YMCA in Silverdale and ending at the Gordon Family YMCA in Sumner. He is running to raise awareness and financial support for the Y’s Counselor in Training and teen leadership programs. Learn more about how you can support Shane’s run: https://lnkd.in/gy82-KWX

We were honored to host Congressman Derek Kilmer and AmeriCorps CEO Michael Smith yesterday at the University Y Student Center in Tacoma and lead them through a Bridge of Hope dialogue. We appreciate everyone who had the courage to share their experiences, as well as the humility to listen and learn from others. Strengthening our civic muscles is more crucial than ever!
