Our YMCA is looking for volunteers to support the Delta Air Lines Swim for Life program at the A.E. Finley, Southeast Raleigh and Taylor Family YMCAs. This no-cost program teaches essential water safety skills through a series of sessions for children and families in our?Y Learning, Camp Excel and other YMCA community partner programs. At the YMCA of the Triangle, our YOTA Swim Team is truly living their motto: Developing Character, One Lap at a Time. This year, more than 50 YOTA swimmers have demonstrated excellence both in the pool and in philanthropy, each raising between $500 and $1,000—or more—for our Annual Campaign. Their efforts help ensure that everyone in our community has access to the Y’s water safety and drowning prevention programs. YMCA Association Director of Competitive Swimming Jerry Foley says, "these swimmers are proof that success isn’t just measured by personal bests but by the impact we make on others. We’re so proud of these young leaders for creating ripples of change—both in and out of the water." Thank you for inspiring us all to dive deeper into giving back! The Southeast Regional Emerging Multicultural Leadership Experience (REMLE) is a transformative event empowering the YMCA’s next generation of multicultural leaders through networking, mentorship and educational sessions. It celebrates diversity while deepening connections to the Y’s mission. Highlights of the event last week included a Table Talk with YMCA of the Triangle CEO Bruce Ham and Lisa Scott, PhD, Chief DEIB Officer, featuring insights from YMCA CEOs statewide. Monica Brown, Senior Director of Equity Advancement, led a session on Employee Resource Groups' role in fostering inclusivity. For Giving Tuesday tomorrow, we're encouraging our YMCA community to extend their generosity beyond the Triangle in support of the Western North Carolina YMCAs impacted by Hurricane Helene earlier this year. On November 4, the YMCA of the Triangle and North Carolina Alliance of YMCAs, Inc. hosted a Health Innovations Roundtable at the Southeast Raleigh YMCA. We welcomed Dr. Mandy Cohen of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Suzanne McCormick, CEO of the YMCA of the USA and other key community and healthcare leaders. During this time we shared updates on Y Health, a program we launched 4 years ago to address health-related social issues in our community.
