YMCA of Silicon Valley is pleased to announce Doug Reed as Chief Financial Officer. Doug has held senior corporate finance positions at several dynamic Silicon Valley companies, including Bill.com, Verifone Systems and BEA Systems – providing leadership for Treasury, Investor Relations, and other finance functions. Doug earned his Masters in Business Administration at Stanford University and his undergraduate degree in Economics at Princeton University. We are thrilled to have Doug, with his vast financial expertise, join our team. Welcome Doug!

Rachel Del Monte joins YMCA of Silicon Valley as its Chief Operating Officer. Rachel will lead strategic initiatives that will strengthen community health by providing places, programs, and people to improve the lives of children, adults, and families.? ? “I am so excited to be a part of the YMCA of Silicon Valley.” says Rachel. “I’ve been a longtime admirer of the impact of YMCA of Silicon Valley and look forward to working closely with staff and volunteers in support of the communities we serve. With over 25 years of YMCA leadership experience, Rachel has supported YMCAs in the Bay Area, excelling as a bridge-builder and strategist. Most recently, Rachel was the Vice President of Member Experience for YMCA of San Francisco. What a day! When the community comes together to bring childcare to the center of our priorities, everyone wins! YMCA of Silicon Valley was thrilled to announce a $1,749,800 grant from the Valley Health Foundation, funded by the County of Santa Clara’s Childcare Expansion Grant Program. This investment supports the renovation of the Gavilan College Child Development Center and the launch of the Early Learning Center. Celebrating and honoring our 2024 Youth Changemaker Award Honoree, Ariav Misra! ?? As Chair of the Mt. Madonna YMCA Youth Board, Ariav enhanced our mission by launching the YMCA Youth Ambassadors Program at Mt. Madonna YMCA. His innovative leadership empowered youth voices and strengthened community engagement by addressing key gaps, such as: engaging teens in leadership roles focused on Youth Development and Social Responsibility; educating teens on Mental Health resources and public speaking; and providing workshops and events to foster professionalism and leadership. Congratulations to our 2024 John D. Crummey Red Triangle Award Honoree, Kathy Riggins! ?? After an impactful career with the YMCA, Kathy Riggins retired in 2016 as CEO of the YMCA of Silicon Valley. She often said, "It takes a team of visionary volunteers and exceptional staff to accomplish our dreams!" True to her words, Kathy immediately became an exemplary volunteer. She has since raised $750,000 for the Y's Community Campaign and now serves as Co-Chair of the $75 million campaign to build a new YMCA in Redwood City. Additionally, she is tri-chairing a multi-million-dollar effort to renovate the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA in Encinitas, where her YMCA journey first began. ??
