More to come at in the Dogpatch community!
The YMCA of Greater San Francisco recently toured the Power Station development with the amazing Associate Capital Team- Tina Chang, Enrique Landa, and Nora Hodgson Manilla. What an amazing project that will help transform a vacant space into a vital community resource for ALL! The Y is a proud partner that in the future will be developing a new facility on the site, adding to the vibrancy of the Dogpatch Community. Thank you, Gina Gregory-Burns, MD, John Willingham, Chris McComic, Chip Rich, and Nico Vargas, for touring and for the collective vision of creating an engaging space where all in the community can Be, Belong and Become!

Saturday was all smiles and fun at the opening of India Basin Waterfront Park. We are so thankful to our partners, San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, for expanding access to waterfront spaces around our bay. This achievement has not gone unnoticed. We had our Bayview Safety Swim and Splash kids, Bayview Hunters Point YMCA leaders, and Y families soaking in all the sunshine and joy! A special thanks to all who helped to build, plan, and support the spaces our community deserves. As well as Rocking the Boat ...who got a few of us in that water! Accessibility builds equity, and as you see we're all in this together. #ymcasf #ygsf #bebelongbecome #bayview

We are excited to welcome our newest AO board member to the YMCA of Greater San Francisco’s Board of Directors, Dr. Carlene J. Wong-Lee, a doctor who dedicated most of her career to youth and has been a part of our YMCA community. Dr. Carlene J. Wong-Lee was born and raised in San Francisco with strong ties to San Francisco’s Chinatown community where her father grew up and later opened a law practice on Waverly Place, across from Chinatown YMCA. After graduating from Lowell High School, she received her Bachelor of Science from Yale University, medical degree from University of California San Diego and specialty training at University of California San Francisco. Dr. Carlene J. Wong-Lee is a neonatal-perinatal physician with over 30 years of pediatric experience. She recently retired from Kaiser Permanente after a long career dedicated to caring for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. While at Kaiser Permanente, she helped lead multiple performance improvement projects to improve clinical outcomes. She is passionate about supporting health and wellness in the community and has an expertise in philanthropy that can lead our community towards building a better future for all. “The YMCA of Greater San Francisco is an amazing non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting the health and well-being of all communities in the San Francisco Bay Area. My family has ties to the YMCA spanning over 75 years, dating back to the 1950’s when my father and uncle belonged to youth development programs. I am thrilled to be joining the YGSF Board and look forward to supporting an organization that has greatly benefited the community, including my family.” -Dr. Carlene J. Wong-Lee
