We help children explore new skills, teens grow to their fullest potential, young adults connect and give back, parents relax in a family-friendly environment, and seniors find a sense of belonging. The YMCA of Greensboro offers programs to families and individuals of all ages, empowering them to learn, grow and thrive. Through these programs, parents find a safe, positive environment for their children to learn good values, social skills and behaviors; kids and teens learn who they are and what they can achieve; and seniors find a sense a belonging and purpose. Thanks to donors, staff, members and volunteers, the Y helps build a stronger community by bridging financial and social need gaps. Our mission is to put Judeo-Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Our neighbors in Western North Carolina need our help following the wake of Hurricane Helene and storms that have devastated the area. We are partnering with New Garden Landscaping, Buds and Blooms Nursery, and Gossett’s Nursery to get donated supplies to Western North Carolina communities impacted by the storm. Donations will be accepted at all YMCA of Greensboro branches and Camp Weaver. Donations will be delivered to South Valley Gardens in Newland, NC for distribution. ?? Happy National Nonprofit Day! ?? Today, we celebrate the incredible impact of nonprofits in our community, and the YMCA is dedicated to strengthening our community through programs that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. So far this year the YMCA of Greensboro has had 4,326 youth participate in sports programming, provided 518 free Safety around water lessons through POOLCORP grant, had 779 adults participate in water exercise classes, offered 41 community exercise classes and welcomed 9,143 seniors as Y members. Plus, this summer our branches had 736 kids at summer day camp and served 4,557 meals to our kids at HT, Bryan, and Ragsdale participants. Our YMCA Camp Weaver welcomed 870 summer day campers and 748 overnight campers. Your support helps us provide essential services and opportunities to those who need them most.
