The YMCA of Greater Houston is honored to receive a $150,000 Valero Benefit for Children grant to support residents in the East End throughout Outreach, Day Camp, After-School, Safety Around Water, Youth Sports and Camp Cullen programs—helping kids build confidence, learn new skills, stay active and thrive in a safe, supportive environment. We are proud to welcome Paula M. Mendoza as the new Board Chair of the YMCA of Greater Houston. A dedicated entrepreneur and community leader, Paula brings decades of experience in business, governance, and service to causes that uplift youth, education, and small businesses. As the founder and CEO of Possible Missions, she has built a thriving company from the ground up, earning national recognition for her leadership and impact. Her service on numerous boards, including HISD and the Texas Association of Business, reflects her deep commitment to creating opportunities for others. With Paula’s vision and dedication, we will continue strengthening communities, expanding access to essential programs, and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. We look forward to the journey ahead under her leadership.

In this new role, Lesley will oversee three YMCA locations, leading and supporting their teams in delivering impactful services to the community. ? She holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s in Science & Health Promotion from the University of Texas. ?
