Our Mission To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. OUR FOCUS Youth Development We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That’s why, through the Y, youth today are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. Healthy Living In communities throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, the Y is a leading voice on health and well-being. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, youth, adults and families are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body. Social Responsibility The Y has been listening and responding to our communities’ most critical social needs for 160 years. Whether developing skills or emotional well-being through education and training, welcoming and connecting diverse demographic populations through global services, or preventing chronic disease and building healthier communities through collaborations with policymakers, the Y fosters the care and respect all people need and deserve. Through the Y, volunteers and donors, leaders and partners are empowering others to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

During Black History Month, we celebrate the legacy of Dr. William Thomas Nelson, a pioneer in healthcare and a champion for inclusion in the YMCA. Born in 1875, Dr. Nelson dedicated his life to improving the well-being of African Americans in Cincinnati, breaking barriers as a physician, community leader, and advocate for equity. His leadership at the Ninth Street YMCA and historic election to the Metropolitan Board of Directors in 1919 marked a turning point for Black representation in the YMCA movement. As the first African-American delegate to the YMCA National Council, he helped shape a vision of holistic development—nurturing body, mind, and spirit. Dr. Nelson’s unwavering commitment to service and justice continues to inspire us today. I pick a new coffeehouse in the city, a 3 hour block, and the team comes and goes as their schedules allow! A time to connect, catch-up, and have some 'light-bulb' moments together----Today we were blessed to have our NEWEST team member with us!
