?? MISSION STRONG: Unleashing the Power of Generosity! ?? Last night, 125 YMCA of Delaware Impact Ambassadors came together to kick off our 2025 MISSION STRONG Community Campaign. It was a night filled with inspiration and a shared belief in the transformative power of generosity. We heard powerful stories of impact—a young leader finding their voice, a lifelong passion for helping others ignited at overnight camp, and the Y’s critical role in unleashing potential within the individuals and communities we serve. Now more than ever, our community needs a place of hope, connection, and belonging. The Y has always been that place, but it takes all of us to ensure that everyone has access, regardless of their circumstances. This year, the YMCA will serve over 150,000 youth and adults, and our Open Doors Financial Assistance Program will provide over $5 million in financial aid to families and individuals in need. Our YMCA of Delaware team had an inspiring 48 hours in Washington DC, proudly representing the YMCA’s national advocacy agenda alongside our passionate Youth Advocates and dedicated volunteers. We’re grateful for the time we were given to have meaningful conversations with Delaware’s congressional delegation who each expressed strong support for our Y’s legislative priorities: - Reducing polarization by strengthening civic engagement - Expanding life-changing chronic disease prevention and water safety programming - Increasing access to affordable, high-quality child care for Delaware families

Today, YMCA of Delaware President & CEO Jarrett Royster and Executive Director of Government Relations Nicole Freedman had the privilege of presenting to the Kids Caucus at Legislative Hall in Dover. Their focus? Addressing the critical gaps in out-of-school time opportunities for middle school students. Teens today face increasingly complex challenges, including rising rates of anxiety and depression, driven by academic pressures and the influence of social media. Without access to supportive environments, many struggle to develop the resilience and skills needed to thrive. At the YMCA of Delaware, we are dedicated to ensuring every young person is on a pathway to success. Through leadership programs, mentoring, and after-school activities, we provide safe spaces for personal growth, helping teens build confidence, forge positive relationships, and develop the skills they need for a brighter future.
