We are officially offering a FREE Swim Instructor Certification (SIC) program. This is a unique opportunity for those 18 years or older to gain Red Cross CPR certification and swim instructor training at no cost. Ideal for those passionate about community safety and building valuable skills. Class Dates: Downtown YMCA ? CPR: Nov 14 (5–8 pm) ? EXCITING NEWS! Enrollment interest for Little Scholars Academy is now open! ?? We’re so excited to announce that the interest form for Little Scholars Academy, located at West Lynchburg Baptist Church, is now open! Our preschool is all about sparking a love for learning! Using the VDOE approved STREAM in 3 curricula, we will inspire little minds to think big, be problem-solvers, and embrace their curiosity – setting them up for success in kindergarten and beyond! Our program is for children ages 3-4 and offers a nurturing environment with hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Mon-Fri. Your child will be in excellent hands with our dedicated team of teachers. This week, our Summer Day Camp staff are training with our partner, 4-H, by discussing licensing standards, YMCA policies and procedures, aquatic safety, and more! We are now accepting 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for the 2024 Teen Scholars Academy! ?? This full-day summer program offers small group instruction and fun activities at the YMCA Teen Center. Math and reading instruction each morning, with enrichment activities in the afternoons. Classes begin June 17 until July 19, 2024 at 9:30 AM- 3:00 PM (closed July 1-5). Food provided at no cost, limited transportation available.
