Researchers are successfully merging human brain cells with AI to create powerful bioprocessors. Yeti's co-founder, Tony, weighs in on the ethics of bioengineering.
My wife thinks I sound like a crazy person talking about this but it's happening and worth discussing. AI wants our brains! ???? AI has disrupted industries, automated creativity, and replaced jobs. But the future of AI may not be "artificial" at all. A new wave of companies are working on "bioprocessing" - merging human neurons with AI to create more efficient, powerful intelligence. Yes: AI powered by human brain cells. This raises huge questions: ?? If AI runs on human neurons, is it still artificial intelligence? ?? Does this blur the line between machine and consciousness? ?? Are we building a future where human intelligence becomes obsolete? This is happening so it soon won't just be hypothetical anymore. If you want to get existential with me, I just spent a good amount of my brain neurons thinking about this and wrote: "First AI Took Our Jobs, Now It Wants Our Brains?" Read it here https://lnkd.in/gctHVFaZ, and let me know what you think! ??

Yeti developer Jonny Schult just wrote this blog article on managing persistent browser data with useSyncExternalStore - check it out!
Software engineer | creates scalable and impactful applications in fintech and IoT | emphasizes elegant architecture and efficient code
There are many ways to persist data through time and across user sessions, but they are often overly complicated, cut into performance, or have unintended side effects. Luckily, for those who work in React, there's the useSyncExternalStore hook, which makes saving preferences and user state in the browser easy and reactive. Utilizing this hook has become standard practice for us at Yeti LLC. Try it yourself with the demonstration app linked in the blog. https://lnkd.in/gmfUN_qK
