We’re excited to bring back Dream Dinner for 2025 and continue helping students make meaningful connections with industry professionals. Daniel Ganopolsky, '24YC, shared his incredible experience at last year’s event, where he had the opportunity to meet Moshe Davis, Senior Liaison at the NYC Office of the Mayor. Through their conversation, Daniel gained valuable insights and built a lasting professional relationship that led to an invitation to the Mayors Jewish heritage event at Gracie Mansion. As we prepare for this year’s event, we’re eager to create even more impactful opportunities for students to connect with leaders in their field. We look forward to seeing the continued success of our Dream Dinner!

?? Alumni Spotlight: Joshua Trauring '24SB ?? Meet Joshua Trauring '24SB, an accomplished Business Analytics major with a Finance minor, and a recent graduate of Sy Syms School of Business! With a strong foundation in data analytics, Joshua has built an impressive career path, gaining valuable experience along his YU journey. Joshua’s professional experience includes interning at EY in Transaction Diligence Analytics, where he worked on the sell-side transaction of a SaaS company, gaining firsthand exposure to the M&A industry. Prior to that, he interned at MeNow! in Tel Aviv, where he built and managed the company’s CRM platform using HubSpot and worked closely with the CEO. These experiences not only sharpened his analytical skills but also deepened his understanding of both the corporate and startup worlds. For students interested in data analytics, Joshua emphasizes the importance of technical skills. "I recommend that students aspiring to a career in data analytics invest time in learning Excel and SQL. Additionally, proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau can set you apart from your peers. As analysts, our role is to uncover meaningful trends in data, and these visualization tools help us present insights to clients in a clear and impactful way." Now at EY, Joshua works with private equity firms, analyzing key trends and developing analytics reports that guide major investment decisions. Whether on the buy side or sell side, his role is crucial in helping firms understand company performance and market potential. He credits Professor Ravi’s Introduction to Information Systems course and Professor Rosenthal’s SQL courses as instrumental in preparing him for this career. With his strong technical foundation and real-world experience, Joshua has successfully transitioned from student to industry professional. We’re excited to see all that he will accomplish in the future!

Meet Aden Lyons, '26YC, a double major in both political science and history, as well as a minor in Strategy & Entrepreneurship!???? As Captain of YU’s Men’s Fencing Team, VP of Discover NYC, and a Board Member of Yavneh NYC, Aden is a leader both in and out of the classroom. Passionate about law, he knew he wanted to pursue a legal career to make a difference and help immigrants striving to make America their home. ?? Aden credits the SGC for helping him land key internships. “The SGC has been incredibly helpful in launching my professional career. When I came to Yeshiva University, I had legal aspirations but did not know how to pursue them. After meeting with Illana Julius, she was able to break down what steps I should take to pursue my legal aspirations. She connected me with Wildes & Weinberg, P.C., a leading immigration firm, and encouraged me to apply for a position.” After speaking with her, he applied and has been working there since. The following year, she also connected him with the Simon Wiesenthal Center, which facilitated his summer internship as a Constituent Services Representative in the office of New York State Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein of New York’s 48th assembly district. He also mentions, “Not only has Ilana assisted me in my internship search, but she has also given me crucial advice on what steps I should take before I apply for law school this fall.” Beyond internships, SGC advisors helped him reach key career milestones. Aden highlighted Jordan Stecker, Ed.M., M.A., sharing, “Jordan encouraged me to publish my papers, and soon after, I published my paper Josephus, Tacitus, and the Roman-Jewish War in Chronos, Yeshiva University's esteemed history journal.” His advice to fellow students? “Meet with advisors, such as Illana Julius and the SGC. Starting out your professional career can be extremely daunting on your own, but having someone experienced to help guide you can make this seemingly difficult process transparent.” ?? We couldn't be more proud and wish Aden the best of luck!
