The #educationchoice landscape is shifting rapidly as Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) and universal school choice gain traction across the U.S. I spoke with Andrew Clark, President of yes. every kid., about what’s driving these changes and what’s next. Here are three of his key points: 1??Universal Choice Wins Support: Universal choice programs are 30% more popular than targeted ones. With 40% of U.S. students already eligible for private school choice, that number could hit 65% this year. 2??ESAs Should Empower Families: State #ESA programs vary in their rigidity. Giving parents true flexibility in how they spend their funds is key to unlocking personalized learning. 3??From Unbundling to Rebundling: Families have already started unbundling by stacking #tutoring, #microschools, and more. The next phase? Smart rebundling—making choice easier while keeping customization. How should policy evolve to balance flexibility and quality? Let’s discuss! ??

Education is in the process of a major shift from “mass production” to “mass customization”. What this practically means for students is a shift from students adjusting to their schooling to a new era where schooling adjusts to the student. For parents, it means many new exciting options to see education more holistically and to align their their child’s education with their family’s faith and values as well as their child’s passions and learning styles. And for educators and education resource providers, this shift will create entirely new opportunities to provide resources and services to emerging education ecosystems creating new jobs and career opportunities with far more flexibility and opportunity. While there will be challenges for many traditional institutions and structures, it will be an exciting era for children, parents, and entrepreneurs of all types in education!
The Customization Disconnect in K-12 Education ?? 72% of Americans believe K-12 education should be more flexible to meet the unique needs of every student. But only 33% think that flexibility exists today. This is a call for action. Families are sending a clear message: the one-size-fits-all model is outdated. From Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) to education tax credits to open enrollment, the tools for a truly flexible, customizable education system are within reach. It’s time to listen to families and modernize K-12 education to match their expectations. Read more in the latest YESF/YouGov national education survey ?? https://lnkd.in/eWCKZMix
