A Christmas Message from the YellowDog new boy: 2024 taught us a lot: in enterprise tech, the most powerful validation isn't just hitting numbers - it's seeing your customers build their future around your technology. When I joined YellowDog as CCO in May, I knew we had game-changing cloud optimisation tech. What I didn't expect was how quickly the market would validate that belief. Key moments that shaped our 2024: 1. Watching customers include YellowDog in job descriptions (there's no better validation!) 2. Deepening our Amazon Web Services (AWS) partnership, especially in financial services 3. Being named "Start-Up of the Year" at South West Business Awards 2024 Expanding our impact in AI workload optimisation For 2025, our focus is clear: scaling our impact in AI workload optimisation and financial services compute management. The market needs better cloud resource management for complex workloads - and we're positioned to deliver exactly that. From Accelerating Quant models to DORA compliance to LLM training optimisation, we're seeing enterprise tech teams face increasingly complex compute challenges. The Night Before Christmas (Yellowdog Edition) 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the cloud, Not a workload was stirring, no errors allowed. The GPUs humming, all neatly in rows, With precision and speed, workloads flowed as they chose. The dashboards were quiet, the metrics aligned, In hoping that Yellowdog's magic would shine. The team at their stations, with coffee in hand, Watched their optimized pipelines just running as planned. When out on the cluster there arose such a clatter, I sprang to the console to see what was the matter. Away to the logs I flew like a flash, To see if some job had encountered a crash. The moon on the instances, all spinning with grace, Gave the lustre of power to the compute's embrace. When what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a sled made of servers, and a driver so clear. With a brilliant gold logo, so vivid and bright, I knew right away it was Yellowdog's might. More rapid than clock cycles, its clusters they came, And it whistled and shouted, and called them by name: "On AWS! On Azure! On Google and more! On-premise and hybrid, to the workload's core! Quant models to AI, no job is too tall! Now distribute! Scale up! Scale out for them all!" As compute nodes respond to a scheduler's call, The workloads dispersed, load-balanced for all. So up to the heavens the workloads they flew, With packets of data, and Yellowdog too. And then in a twinkling, I heard in the logs, The scaling of VMs and performance of jobs. As I drew in my breath and was turning around, Yellowdog landed without making a sound. It was dressed all in gold, from its head to its core, A platform for scaling and optimizing more. A bundle of insights it had in its stack, It deployed with precision, no room for a lack. Its algorithms twinkled, its schedulers merry, Its interface smooth and workloads not wary. It spoke not a word but went straight to its task, And orchestrated compute faster than we'd asked. And laying its finger on the clusters' bright glow, It scaled down the resources as demand became low. It sprang to its sled, to its team gave a whistle, And away it flew faster than a hyperspeed missile. But I heard it exclaim, ere it vanished from sight, "Happy Cloud Scaling to all, and to all a good night!" Merry Christmas from YellowDog.
