When leaders discuss transformation not being a point in time or something that is ever “complete,” they’re speaking to this capacity to iterate, evolve, and transcend. Strong implementation foundations create beautiful cycles of success that enable constant evolution and iteration. Strong implementations prime us for continuous transformation. We arrive here through intentionally aligned implementation projects. However, what I consistently observe are foundations that lack stability, leading to a significant erosion of user confidence and adoption. ? Implementations seem complete, and they’ve been branded and labeled as complete, but what does complete mean? Users aren’t comfortable. They’re not confident in the data or the end-to-end processes. ? Users are forced into manual workarounds. Something about this doesn’t reinforce a feeling of trust in technology and this oversold vision of digital transformation. ? Numerous teams, consultants, and stakeholders have led to a disarray of inputs, each with their own vision, intention, or agenda, instead of a unified direction that should guide the project from inception to completion. ??Leaders constantly cycle through consultants, hoping the next one can solve the problem. But we never stop to define the problem, so six months later, we’re shopping for (yet) another new consultant. ??You finally end up with this hopeless monster of a situation, a horror story I call FrankenSuite. Frankenstein in every way. You devote energy, time, and financial resources to enriching this Frankenstein situation. So, how do you stop pouring money into the trash? STOP. Stop doing “all the things” and begin focusing on the most impactful activities that have the ability to move you out of this horrible downward spiral. This is the key that opens your door to true transformation.?
