YCS celebrates the opening of a new home in Branchburg Twp.? On November 4th, YCS dedicated the opening of the YCS Davinchi Home at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Branchburg. “We are so incredibly grateful to Carla Ponn for donating this beautiful, custom-built home that she thoughtfully designed and furnished to the highest standard to meet the special needs of her son, David, and his three housemates," said Tara Augustine, YCS president.?? ?? Ms. Ponn spoke about the year-long challenge to fulfill her vision to build a home that could accommodate all the needs of her adult son, the other residents, and staff. “I learned a lot about all the town and N.J. Division of Developmental Disabilities safety guidelines during the time it took to finish construction," said Ms. Ponn.? In the end, it was a labor of love that exceeded all expectations. ?? The YCS Davinchi Home is the newest addition to the 19 YCS residences for adults with I/DD, co-occurring behavioral health challenges, and medical concerns that require life-long, round-the-clock care, in a home-like environment

John Uzzi, outgoing YCS Inc. Board Chair, inducted three past board members: Dominick D' Agosta, Robert C. Gordan, and Herbert Ouida, as honorary trustees in memoriam at the YCS annual meeting.?? In a heartfelt tribute to his former colleagues, Mr. Uzzi described their enormous contributions to the YCS Family, and said, "They are no longer with us, but their compassionate spirit and vision continue to guide our two boards today.” Deanna D' Agosta, David Gordan and Andrea Ouida accepted awards on behalf of their loved ones.??Photo (l-r) YCS President Tara A. YCS is honored to name Cathy Tamburello chair of the YCS Inc. Board.? Ms. Tamburello has been an integral member of the YCS family for 18 years and has served as a Trustee since 2020. As a retired special educator and parent of an adult with disabilities, she has continually provided invaluable insight as a parent and professional to the YCS Board and agency leadership.? Across the Garden State, Ms. Tamburello has earned a reputation for being a staunch, advocate for numerous individuals with a disability.? As founder and owner of Advocacy for Achievement, Ms. Tamburello works with families to develop a clear vision and plan of services/supports for their loved ones. Ms. Tamburello serves as Co-Chair of the Regional Family Support Planning Council of Essex and as a consultant for the Family Support Organization of Essex. She is also an active participant in the Council of Parent Advocates and Attorneys (COPAA).??
