This morning, members of the Yark team joined United Way of Greater Toledo in packing meal kits at the Islamic Food Bank as part of their United for the Holidays initiative. This is just one of several packing events that took place during the month, with volunteers from various Toledo organizations and businesses coming together to pack over 500 meal boxes. Each meal kit contains two weeks’ worth of food for a family of four to support families throughout Northwest Ohio.

Yark Automotive Group, alongside 13abc, was proud to lend a helping hand to Luanne Williams, a Kindergarten teacher at Chase STEMM Academy. Luanne is known as "The Christmas Lady" in her community, having made it her mission to make sure all of her students have a gift to open under the tree and collecting donations every year to make this happen. The shop-style pantry is open on the first and third Saturday of each month and allows families to pick what they want based on their family size and needs. The organization relies on the dedication of volunteers and donors to make this outreach possible. Yark Automotive, alongside 13abc, was honored to lend a helping hand to Lauren Salas, a local woman who is in her second fight with breast cancer. In 2018, Lauren was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 24. This year, her cancer had a recurrence and is now stage four. Lauren and her family have been dedicated to spreading awareness of breast cancer and early detection, as it begins to affect younger people, like Lauren, through their "Team Lauren" initiative.
